Description

Located in Circleville, Pickaway Golf Course is a traditional parkland-style track. Its gently rolling fairways and tree-lined corridors provide a classic golf experience. Several dogleg holes test accuracy and placement rather than raw power. The greens are subtle but can be tricky to read, adding to the challenge. This course is popular among both locals and visiting players for its consistency and welcoming staff.

They really need to work on getting some water. Sprinklers are needed, tee boxes look for a Crack to tee your ball. Greens more brown than green? Fairways pretty much all crab grass and like hitting off concrete. People are nice and still had good time.

I love all courses.... This place wasn't as bad as some reviews made it out to be. I played Dec. 28th and this is Ohio, so any opportunity to play is a blessing. Starting in the clubhouse, the guy in the pro shop was polite and accommodating. Bought a large bucket of range balls for $7, which is not a bad deal, though a lot of the balls had dried mud caked on them. Also, the driving range is irons only, which is fine for me, because I just hope to get some decent contact with full swings on any club to warm up, but it's not a place for those who like to rip driver. About 200 yds to end of the range which is a tree line that protects a hole on the course from balls hit to far. The greens were somewhat patchy and many needed blown off as they had sticks, leaves, acorns, etc..., and though the bunkers have very nice sand in them, most had piles of leaves in them or around them which made finding the ball tough at times if you were in those areas. I got a hot deal on GolfNow, which made this a good value, though, I probably would have found it to be a poor value had I paid full price. I figure you pay a greens fees for greens to be up kept, which means blown off, cut, maintained, etc.... I would play the course again if I got another hot deal or something similar.

This course has really went downhill. I paid 47$ for a round August 30, 2025. I get not having rain but this is ridiculous for the price you pay. They had the sprinklers on every hole while I was playing. My Tee time was 7:00AM. You can’t even putt on these greens and the fairways are like a construction site. The greens were literally so muddy you can’t even putt. Take your money elsewhere.

I went here today with my brother and I honestly don’t know if we played a round of golf or toured a petting zoo. The greens looked like a herd of goats had been turned loose and told to chew it down to “regulation height.” I’ve seen better putting surfaces in my backyard after my dog gets the zoomies. The fairways? Patchy. The greens? Embarrassing. The whole course looked like it hadn’t seen maintenance since the invention of the rake. Putting on these greens was less about skill and more about guessing which random bump, crater, or bald spot was going to launch your ball sideways. For what they charge, this place feels like they’re just taking people’s money and hoping no one notices. Spoiler alert: we noticed. Big time. If you enjoy golf courses that resemble abandoned cow pastures, this might be the place for you. Otherwise, save your money, save your sanity, and literally go anywhere else. I would not recommend this course to anybody — not beginners, not experienced golfers, not even someone who just wants to ride in the cart. I will never be coming back. 🐐⛳️

The staff were friendly, but that was about the only redeeming quality of this course. The course is in terrible, terrible shape, and 50 dollars for a round should be a crime. The fairways and greens were in awful shape, and it was often hard to tell the difference between the fairway and the rough. The ground was rock hard, and it was almost impossible to put tees in the teeboxes, which looked like minefields. Some of the bunkers had nice, soft sand in them. Besides the terrible conditions, it was also difficult to tell where subsequent holes were. Another complaint I have about this course is the layout. It was challenging, but not in the right way. They had lots of trees in the middle of the fairways, not rewarding good shots. Many tee shots required you to hit short irons on par fours because of how the trees were oriented. Hole 18 is a disaster from a design perspective. The ground is rock hard and there’s a huge downhill that funnels right into a pond. You could land a shot over a 100+ yards that would go right into the water. I don’t mind a challenging course at all, but a lot of these designs didn’t make any sense. It almost didn’t feel like a real round at times.
