Great course condition and open to the public. Last week we played a practice round in preparation for this week's NOPGA tournament. It was $35 for a green fees and a cart. The course is in excellent shape!

Ashland Golf Club is an outstanding course—well-maintained, scenic, and fun to play. The layout offers a great mix of open and tree-lined holes, with gentle elevation changes that add to the experience. Greens were in excellent condition: smooth, fast, and consistent. Fairways were lush, and the bunkers were in solid shape. The course is fair but rewards accuracy and smart shot selection. The staff is excellent—friendly, helpful, and professional from start to finish. Pace of play was just right. Definitely one of the best public courses in the region—worth the drive.

When I checked in for my tee time the friendly pro shop attendant warned me the course was very challenging, he was right, but I didn’t mind as the course was outstanding. The challenge of the course is the maturity and tightness of the fairways. There are many majestic and tall trees that require straight tee shots or even shaping of your tee shot to fit in chutes off the tee. If you spray your driver it will be a long day for you here. Another challenge is a stream that runs through out the course, but only comes into play on a few holes. There are numerous single lane bridges crossing this stream through out the course. Despite all these challenges, Ashland was a blast to play. The variety of the hole layouts and lengths were fascinating. The conditioning of the entire course - tees, fairways, rough, bunkers and greens were in immaculate condition. I teed off early at about 7:15 and there were more workers getting everything in shape after a few days of rain then I have seen on any course public or private. Their hard work was evident all over the course. Bunkers were raked, greens cut and rolled, all first thing in the morning. My favorite hole was the down hill par 5, 5th hole. It is very narrow fairway off the tee shaped slightly, right to left. If you can draw the ball down the fairway you will have a great chance to reach the green in two. It was a long drive for me to get to this course, after playing Ashland Golf Club, I would have driven further to play it.

Ashland is a very nice golf course. Tough, but fair. The staff is outstanding! From Dennis, to Paul, to Gary, and the rangers/starters, and bartender personnel we've met. All live up to the "Ashland friendly" motto! I guess if I had one recommendation for improvement, it would be another set of tees. The standard White tees at 6,400 yards and 129 slope makes it the highest sloped course we play in our rota of courses, but the Gold tees at 5,500 are just a bit shorter than I'd like for my group. That said, I do enjoy playing here in spite of the fact it beats me up quite frequently. . .

Very well maintained course. Greens are smooth, roll well, and have challenging undulation. Fairways are beautiful. No real complaints other than if you don't hit the fairway you're behind a tree, but that has nothing to do with course maintenance! Also a bit pricy at about $68 for 18 w/ a cart.
