Description

Firestone Country Club's South Course in Akron is one of Ohio's crown jewels, host to multiple World Golf Championships and PGA Championships. Originally built in 1929 and later redesigned by Robert Trent Jones, it is long, demanding, and immaculately conditioned. The narrow fairways, deep bunkers, and fast greens provide a stern test. The south course was outstanding. Thick rough, picturesque holes with beautiful trees Green putted true. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had a great caddy. Food and drinks very good. The villas a great place for a group to stay with a game room and balcony over looking the monster #16 on the South. Blimp flew over as a bonus.

Long, narrow fairways. Sloping hills. Protected greens. Deep bunkers.

Really enjoyed attending this year's senior tournament. Picked a different group everyday and walked 18 holes with them. Eating in the air conditioned club house every day was also nice. Great course for watching a tournament. Parking lot nearby with a pass or a grass lot around the corner with a shuttle bus.
