Description

A tidy nine-hole layout tucked in the Turtle Mountains just northeast of town, Bottineau plays off natural roll and subtle elevation to make accuracy matter more than brute length. Greens are compact and crowned, so short-game touch is rewarded and long putts can get lively. Several holes frame distant views over the hills, yet fairways are generous enough to welcome newcomers. Pace of play is typically quick, with locals walking and visitors soaking up the scenery. Practice is limited to putting and chipping on site, so most players head straight to the first tee.

Usually have a great time on this course!! Many holes are set up so seniors can post a decent score!!!

The course itself isn't bad. The greens are in pretty good shape and the fairways are great. The groundskeepers, however, are what I have an issue with. Went 2 weeks in a row and both times they were out doing grass work in the middle of the day on a Saturday. The most recent time I went, a groundskeeper and someone on a golf cart stopped in front of me on hole 5 when I was going to hit and just had a conversation. Keeping up on the grass is important, I understand that. However, it seems to me that this is something that should be done on a day that is not one of the busiest of the week.

Love playing in Bottineau! Course is in amazing shape. The reason it's not 5 stars for me is there is no junior rate and 89 dollars for me and my son to play 18 is way to high!
