Willow Creek Golf Club Greer, SC As we near the end of winter, we're on the hunt for a fun nearby course. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! This fun and challenging 18-hole layout winds around a neighborhood on the outskirts of Greenville, SC. Designed by Tom Jackson, this little treat allows for target golf and full throttle shots. A couple of years back, they renovated the greens, making them much harder to hold longer iron shots. The greens roll true, but as mentioned before, they are much firmer now. When the wind blows, this course tends to play a little harder due to a few holes being exposed. It's a bit of a challenge to walk but can be done. Bring your friends and don't worry about the round breaking your bank. It's financially friendly, and the employees are laid back and genuine.

Course was in great shape, but $40 to walk 9 at 5 pm is ridiculous. The guy in the shop and ranger even agreed. They claimed the owner (or pro, not sure which) is doing it to prevent walking on the weekends. Preventing business doesn’t sound like a great business model to me.

The whiteboard is between the pro shop and the door to access the course. Judging from reviews posted Friday I was not the only one getting the clear message of my value as a member. Several other reviews point to the pain point created by the installation of GPS geofencing several months ago that still could use some fine tuning. Most who play the course frequently know the points on the cart path where it is best to avoid the irritation of the system by steering around it. It is also best to ignore the traditional signage for returning to the cart path from the fairway because the geofencing frequently doesn’t match the physical signage. Players drive carts by referring to the red line on the system’s screen instead. As for me, I renewed my membership because of my fellow members. Not because of management’s response to constructive criticism. Clearly they have no interest in reading their own reviews.

We had a golf tournament for work with 4 teams and somehow they doubled booked our spot. They worked us in and it all worked out. Good breakfast sandwiches too. Fun day and my team won. 🏆

I moved to the upstate in the 90s and have been going to Willow Creek for decades. I used to love this course they took good care of it and charged a reasonable rate. I played it today and it sucked! The greens were slow and hairy the tee boxes were hideous, they even had mats on one of the par 3s and when I said something about the price being high they got an attitude with me. They're charging nearly the same rate as the Walker course at Clemson University which is rated number one or two best Collegiate golf courses in the nation. And it's worth it. Willow Creek should be charging $35 if you want to compare them to Walker. This course sucks for the price don't play it
