I do not leave a lot of reviews, but this is a tourist trap. If you are expecting to be able to rent golf clubs, you will not get a full set. Bags were missing multiple clubs and putter. Also one of the drivers was broken and had tape on it. They will make you pay for the full amount as well. I booked nine holes 3 weeks before we got out here to play with rentals and we had to play with female clubs because they did not have enough for one set. We tried to let them know we could share the sets, but they refused and made us pay for a set. We ended up not even using and used the other sets. Also charged us full price even though we were quoted half the price on the phone. Highly recommend getting a email confirmation with pricing from them before scheduling any golf trips with that golf course. The golf pro shop staff was not very helpful and had to argue with them to get a hold of a manager on a phone that then told us they would not refund even though we were told a completely different price. Again, please make sure to get an email with a quote from them stating how much it will cost.

Staff was very nice which is a great thing going to and playing a course for the first time. The course is in GREAT shape. The greens were really nice. One green had a slight "grass issue" off one side, but other than that, very nice. Plenty of sand and some water hazard. Neat course. Glad I played with others that knew the course and how to get from one hole to the next.

I would strongly advise thinking twice about golfing at Lockwood Folly from now on. My father and brother were there this morning just trying to enjoy a round of golf, when before they knew it a sheriff was detaining my older father under accusations from the front desk lady wearing the American Flag shirt, who is possibly the General Manager, accusing him of paying with counterfeit money, which did NOT happen. She claimed that she had looked at the footage “numerous times,” which I’m not quite sure how this is possible because only when the sheriff looked at the footage with her, did she “suddenly realize” that it was not my father who had paid with the counterfeit money, which my father and brother had been trying to explain for the entire 45 minutes that they were being detained. In the end, neither the lady at the desk who accused my father nor anyone else from the golf course apologized to my family, only had the sheriff come out and tell them that they were “good to go.” This was deeply embarrassing for my father and brother, and it does not appear that Lockwood Folly is planning to do anything to make this right or take any kind of accountability. I do also want to note that neither my family or I am blaming the sheriff at all for this, we understand that he was just doing his job and appreciate him for taking it seriously.

My husband and I golfed here all week. We have high praise for the staff. Very kind, respectfull, know their job duties and perform them well. The course is very well laid out, hard/difficult in places yet pleasant to play. Water hazards have gators, seeing them is mildly shocking, but cool. Lots of turtles too. We mostly played 9, but Sunday played 18 with strangers who were more like friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. We'll be back!

My husband and I golfed 18 while enjoying our honeymoon. The course was challenging and kept in great shape. Beautiful views. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way. We finished our round 15 minutes after the pro shop closed. Marisa, the manager, was leaving for the evening and was kind enough to let us purchase a souvenir to remember our a fantastic round from our honeymoon. She truly went above and beyond for us. Next time we are in NC, we will definitely be back to Lockwood Folly Country Club.
