A mountain-top Donald Ross classic from the 1920s, Roaring Gap lays across a high ridge with long-range Blue Ridge views. At roughly 3,000 feet, balls fly farther and breezes change club selection from hole to hole. Ross's greens rise and fall with subtle shoulders that can repel indifferent approaches. The course's charm is its simplicity—few forced carries, but constant demands on trajectory and distance control. A seasonal club, it offers some of North Carolina's most idyllic summer golf away from the heat and humidity.

An extraordinary golf experience that makes you feel like you have stepped back into the 1920s

This is the most unbelievable place in the world. Just spent the week there, playing golf and relaxing with friends. Everyone on the mountain is super friendly. It's one of my favorite places to go.

Very quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed touring the facility, riding golf carts, and the lake. I absolutely loved the mountain atmosphere and enjoyed time with my family.
