August 1, 2026. Very fun and challenging course. Super short overall, comparatively. Turtle back greens were definitely difficult, but could’ve been worse if the conditions were more dry. There was a bit of Velcro feel on the greens compared to #2’s quickness. This is a course that doesn’t necessarily require a driver unless yours is dialed in. Fairways bend and turn at a distance that mine went through the fairway a few times. Only 2 par 5’s on the back nine. Scorecard was a total 68, compared to your typical 72, due to the shortened overall length, but don’t get your hopes up that it makes the course easier.

What a place. This is the 1st Pinehurst course I played and it did not disappoint. Sure, it's a short course but it's not like I am driving the greens. It was great to experience the design traits of Donald Ross without paying for No.2 (I'm sure it's worth it). On the day we played in November there was seemingly no one else on the course. Fantastic Day!

Played #3 Tuesday on a buddies golf trip. Played this in the afternoon after playing #2. Bad decision! #3 is short @ 5100 yards but the greens were mounded and fast. They were in great shape and quick. Fun to play but greens beat us up! Make sure your iron game is on. Again the staff like at all the courses were helpful and friendly.

Great course! Beginner friendly due to the shorter distances and lower pars. Super fun

Checking off State #22 on our journey to play golf in all 50 states as a married couple, Pinehurst No. 3 was everything we hoped it would be and more. This was a major bucket-list stop for us, and the course did not disappoint. While No. 3 may be one of the shorter courses at Pinehurst, the famous turtleback greens provided a true test and made every putt an adventure. The course was in excellent condition and offered a fun yet challenging round that rewarded precision. What made this experience even more memorable was everything that comes with a visit to Pinehurst. From exploring the historic clubhouse to playing The Cradle, the resort’s incredible par-3 course, every part of the experience reflected the rich tradition and hospitality that make Pinehurst so special. We also had the opportunity to interview Payton Finley during our visit, which added another unforgettable memory to an already amazing trip. As a married couple traveling the country and playing golf in all 50 states, Pinehurst No. 3 will always hold a special place on our journey. If you’re visiting Pinehurst, be sure to add No. 3 and The Cradle to your itinerary. You won’t regret it.
