Played to today 7-29-26 and course is not in that good of shape. Hole 6 has been a temp green for some time now. Fairways were not cut and some tee boxes need cut some staff were cutting while were playing. Almost all greens need help. They may want to try an and sharpen the blades to cut the fairways.Don’t miss the fairway as you will spend plenty of time looking for your ball in 3 plus inches of grass on some of them. As a resident of River Bend, it is a shame to have a course with such terrible conditions while also being extremely overpriced. At $60.00 for 18 holes and a cart (one of the most expensive public courses in the area) I will say with full confidence you are better off taking your business to the Emerald. I was hoping that under new management course conditions would improve but that has not been the case. Tee boxes are made up of nothing but dirt, you can’t decipher the fairway from the rough due to the amount of weeds and dirt scattered along each hole, and greens are continuously in poor shape. I want to also add that employees in the pro shop make you feel as if you giving them your business is the worst thing to happen to them. At the end of the day they are ripping people off with a $60.00 price tag when you can play a course that is always in good shape like the Emerald for $20 cheaper.

Course is in terrible shape and way over priced! The greens might as well be bunkers and the fairways are roughs. $47 for 9 holes in the late afternoon. Any course within an hour is much cheaper and in much better condition. Staff are nice but all items in the shop, bar, and restaurant, are overpriced as well. They have let this place go down the drain!!! Any one that gives above 2 stars is lying.

I’m a long time New Bern native, I have played this course numerous times. But since the new management I’m gonna tell you now this is not a $60.00 course. It’s in bad shape year round. I just came off playing it today and shot one of my better rounds this year and I’m still writing this review. The river bend website states it’s $50.00 with a cart for 18 holes. The pro shop charged us $60.00 before tax. He said that it was $50.00 on Groupon only, I then showed him it was listed on the COURSE website for $50.00. He then said that’s only for Monday through Thursday, when it clearly showed Friday. Even at $50.00 it’s not worth it. Save your money and just go play the emerald. The bar and grill is the only good part which is what is saving them from a 1 star review.

Played here a few weeks ago. The range and tee boxes were in pretty rough shape. Don't worry about the rough because there really isn't any. The greens were easily some of the worst I have ever seen. The 3 star rating comes into play for the very polite and nice pro shop staff, the bar, the fairways being in great shape, and the course layout. This track has a lot of potential and I hope they can get it back up to speed soon because it is an enjoyable course. I certainly couldn't see myself paying over $20 to play this course in the current condition but I think they can get it in great condition with some time and effort.
