Absolute beauty of a course. 3 days after a hurricane and they’re open for business. The tee boxes were a touch rough but that’s probably due to the rain fall. Fairways were excellent and the greens… holy cow absolutely beautiful. I’ll definitely be going back.

Catawba Creek Golf Course in Gastonia is always a great experience. The course itself is in beautiful condition, making each round really enjoyable. The staff are consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes a big difference. One of my favorite features is the golf carts with built-in screens—they add a modern touch and make navigating the course so easy. Overall, a well-maintained course with great service that keeps me coming back!

This golf course has made some major improvements since the last time I played here the tee boxes have been resodded greens were in great shape no Poana like the last time I was here they have GPS on the golf carts the only drawback is they have had to raise green fees

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a golf course because of completely unacceptable behavior from the staff at Catawba Creek. The man in charge of pace of play (start of second hole and already backed up as we were sitting and waiting) was outright disrespectful, aggressive, and completely out of line. I had my 4-year-old son with me, who was riding along and hadn’t even taken a single shot through two holes. He came flying up accusing us of having five players, which was flat-out wrong, and immediately started talking down to me like I was doing something wrong. Instead of acting like a professional, he was borderline yelling at me in front of my child and the rest of our group. No respect, no common sense, no attempt to handle the situation calmly. Just pure attitude and confrontation. Then I’m told that if my 4-year-old even touches a club, it’s $60 (same as a full-paying adult) that we’d have to split up our group. That’s not just unreasonable, it’s ridiculous. When I said I wanted a refund because of how disrespectful the situation had become, he said “no problem” and then drove off WITH MY SON’S CLUBS still in the cart. That alone tells you everything about the level of professionalism here. The disrespect didn’t stop there, it continued inside the clubhouse while I was getting my money back. I’ve played here before with my son and never had a single issue. No one in our group had any problem with him riding along and maybe putting a couple times. This was completely unnecessary and handled in the worst way possible. If this is how they treat paying customers and their kids, I won’t be back—and I’d seriously think twice before bringing your family here. I would give it a zero if I was able too. If you have any desire of spending time with your young kids and growing them into the game of golf like I have with my almost 5 year old this is not the place to bring them. Go to spring lake that do not charge a fee until they are 16 and welcome kids with high fives and smiles when you show up to the club house. Seeing my son cry for the first time on a course (he has played with me over 15 times on a course) was heart breaking.

I played this course in the early 2000s when it was gastonia Municipal. the fairways were always immaculate year round and the bent greens were the best around. When the new owners took over they transitioned to bermuda greens. played there yesterday i show up an hour and 20 mins before sun set the dude charges me 28 dollars to walk on a weekday at a course that the condition gets worse everytime i play it. the greens are slow bumpy hole 3 is basically always ground under repair. the carts loction software barely lets you even drive to your ball. everytime i play here the course gets worse and the price goes up I wont be back its honestly heart breaking because this was my home course growing up and to see the shape its in now its a sad site to see. beside the country club this is the only course in gaston county because theyve all shut down and this one looks like its headed on the same path
