Elk River is Jack Nicklaus's first Signature course in North Carolina, debuting in 1984 at elevations from roughly 3,450 to 4,650 feet. The Bear's routing mixes corridor holes with open meadows, always giving players a preferred angle into well-defended greens. Altitude adds distance but wind and side-hill lies keep shotmaking honest. Conditioning is a point of pride, with a practice complex that supports serious improvement. It's a quintessential High Country club—refined setting, engaging golf, and a layout that stays fresh through the seasons.

Had the honor of shooting a wedding here and it turned out amazing! The golf course and greenery served as the perfect spot for my couples wedding ceremony and their wedding day portraits. The staff here were amazing and made sure my team and I had everything we needed on the day. If you are a newly engaged couple, you should take a serious look at the Elk River Club!
