I’ve always enjoyed playing the course but I went to book a tee time today and the employee at the pro shop cared little about assisting me in booking the tee time. I was redirected back to the online portal and the phone call was rushed. Hopefully this was a one off for the course but that's not a great look. People spend a lot of money golfing to get a day out and enjoy the experience, disgruntled employees can destroy a business because people are not paying hundreds/thousands of dollars to be in an uncomfortable environment. After the call was disconnected because the employee gave the feeling that he didn't care if I played there or not, I called Swan Lake and the girl was so sweet and helped me book a tee time. The cost went from close to $130 to $170 but well worth it to me because it was an experience where it seemed like the employee wanted to help and didn't treat the experience like not my business, not my problem. Hope this helps operational improvement.

I don't know if there's new owners running this place or the parents gave it to their kids but it's not how it used to be and icing on top the woman ( claims she the owner ) that's at proshop. Yeah her attitude needs to change not customer service worthy maybe take some lessons on customer service she obviously sucks at it. Doesn’t matter if your not in a good mood have customer service smile be kind not Rude. Will not be returning ever again, ill just stick to pine hills for now on.

My whole family has played golf here for years, my husband and I, my three sons and their wives, and now we are bringing our grandsons. That being said they will no longer have our business, it’s not because of the grounds they are lovely but it’s the staff, one in particular i believe her name is Cristy the golf professional, professional at what being rude and abrasive? In this age of reviews and customer service, it’s disappointing to see such unprofessionalism at a place that’s been in business since the 1960’s. My suggestion is to head over to Willow Creek. It’s a shame one rude uncaring employee will lose the business of our whole family.

Update: if you read my review and photos below from 2024, the course is in unbelievable shape compared to that. Kudos to the team there. Here’s the problem with this course though: while the greens “look” great, they are some of the slowest on Long Island. I assume this is done on purpose to prevent burnout and not slow down play from super fast greens. They are very receptive but good luck trying to make a putt. The grass is kept at a higher height than other courses and they are very moist. So what happens? They become spongy. And after a few groups play on the greens, footprints everywhere if you look closely. With the combination of slow greens and bumpy footprints, your putts bounce and wobble every which way. Might be good for the recreational golfer out having fun, but if you’re any bit serious about your game, you won’t make a putt all day. 8/24 - Been playing at this course 30+ years as I grew up locally. Still come from Queens to play. Never had conditions like this. Pro Shop said it’s “wet wilt” due to a lot of rain and then excessive heat. Ok, Mother Nature happens. Yet it was still $100 for green fee, cart, and range. Felt like I was robbed. Manager listened to my complaint but didn’t seem to care at all. Won’t be back.

Well maintained golf course out east on Long Island in Suffolk County. The golf course is not particularly long, but has narrow fairways that are lined with trees. Definitely a fun round of golf that's reasonably priced.
