The course is great shape they clearly understand how maintain a course Played many times -challenging greens nice fairways always clean probably best kept 9hole public course around…… only drawback I see is tee boxes are sloped way too much- don’t see that most courses- I guess slightly for drainage necessary but currently way too much slope The crew is great and on top all aspects of maintenance and it shows maybe they can address tee boxes in coming seasons

My issue along with everyone else that is a Town of Hempstead Resident is the lack of Golf Carts. For a 9 hole course you need to have a minimum of 18 carts - do the math! And that's not counting if one breaks down or one for the person that should be driving the course managing the time of each group. We pay enough taxes so enough with the silly phrase of 1st come 1st serve. GET MORE CARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a tee time for 1:50 pm today. I show up and the guy at the window tells me they closed the course 20 minutes before I got there. My tee time wasn’t for another 30 mins. I showed up early to practice for my round. When I asked the guy why no one called me to tell me the course randomly shut for the day he repeated the course was closed and slammed the window in my face. I don’t get how the course is closed when you’re selling tee times or when there’s literally people playing golf out there while I’m being told it’s closed. Makes no sense. Drove a long way to play golf there and not only did they not want to explain to me why they also were straight up rude about it when I asked.

I have been playing here for 30 years and I have never seen it in worse shape. As a matter of fact I don’t know if I’ve seen any course in worse shape. TOH should be embarrassed. Sell it or make it playable. You should be offering refunds. It’s a disgrace.

Played this wonderful short but strong 9-hole seaside track last week (May 7, 2026). I almost turned back as I was at least 15 minutes late for my 2:50 PM tee time but decided to call the golf office and take the chance. It was a good decision as I was fortunate that the guy at the office as well as the starter were very accommodating. Without much fuss, they were able to move me down and I only had to wait less than 15 minutes to be squeezed into a later group so I gave them 5 stars. As for the course, the holes have a lot of character including the signature #1, a dog-leg left Par 5 with water all the way from tee to green. My favorite that day was the Par 4 - hole # 7, putting from fringe at the highest point of the green with my back to the hole to compensate for a wicked downhill slope. The Par 3 holes are long enough at more than 150+ yards and the Par 4s are challenging doglegs.
