Summit Municipal is a classic community course that delivers straightforward golf with an authentic municipal vibe—accessible, practical, and built around fundamentals. The layout typically rewards keeping the ball in play and managing approach distances into greens, because small misses can quickly lead to scrambling. It’s a great “practice round that counts” track: you can focus on driving accuracy, wedge control, and putting speed under real playing conditions. The course is also popular with regulars, which gives it that familiar “home muni” rhythm and repeat-play appeal. Better players can still score by tightening proximity and converting putts, while newer golfers can enjoy it without feeling overwhelmed. If you want honest, no-drama public golf in North Jersey, Summit is a solid choice.

Great course, has good variety of holes to keep your interest. Also has a staff that makes you feel welcome.

Not actually a public course. In the area visiting and cannot use as we are not members. "Muni" not so much. Big fan of par 3s sad we cannot play it.

Go here all the time, a wonderful place to practice some chipping and small iron play. Great for kids, as the hole lengths range from 60-150 yards. Price is great, just $5-6 if you are a member for all 9 holes. (Membership costs $40) The worst thing is the greens, they are so slow, and craters make them bump a lot. Anyway, I highly recommend this place.
