Great course overall. The conditions are consistently good and the pace of play is solid, which makes for an enjoyable round. Only downside is the driving range—it seems to be closed more often than not, which is a bit frustrating if you like to warm up beforehand. Still, a strong 4-star experience.

I played this course for the first time recently and I left with mixed feelings. Check in was smooth and easy in the clubhouse, where I decided to buy a bucket of balls to warm up on the range. That’s where things got weird. I was told that I had to leave my county card as collateral and it would be returned to me only after I returned the bucket. (Never had that happen but whatever) I was pleasantly surprised to find that I would get to hit off of natural grass instead of a matt on the range. (Awesome) After warming up, returning the bucket to get my card back, I proceeded to play the front 9 from the tips. The course plays very short and very tight with little margin for error off the tee. Once I began the back 9 things got interesting. I encountered some of the worst conditions I’ve ever seen before. The green on hole 12 had several barren dead spots and had goose droppings everywhere. So bad that I had to clear a path for my putt by lifting up poop with my putter. Gross… I then proceeded to hole 13, which was like a barren wasteland. The excessive water damage has left almost no grass in the fairway. If I were to return I would probably only play the front 9 because it was very enjoyable.

One of the worst golf courses I have ever played. Every hole there was at least 2 groups waiting, and I did not even get a rain check for playing 2 holes when I paid for 18. What a joke this course is.

This place is garbage, divots everywhere, slow pace of play and they don’t give rain checks. I only played 2 holes yesterday when I paid $65 for 18 and it started thunder-storming. As soon as I called to get a refund or a voucher I was met with the worst customer service I have ever gotten in my life. The person who answered was extremely rude. And I did not get my money back or any vouchers. This place is a dog track I would recommend everyone to stay FAR away from this place.

As prospective customers who were new to the area and considering Valley Brook Golf Course, our first impression was incredibly disappointing. Upon arriving, we entered the clubhouse looking for the pro shop. While trying to get our bearings, a staff member abruptly approached us in a confrontational manner and demanded, “What are you doing?” Rather than offering assistance or a simple “Can I help you find something?”, she immediately made us feel unwelcome. When we explained that we were looking for the pro shop, she responded with a rude and condescending attitude, essentially telling us to leave and sarcastically pointing out that “the golf course is outside”—as if we weren’t already aware of that. It’s difficult to understand why anyone working in hospitality or customer service would choose to treat potential customers this way. Golf courses depend on attracting new players, members, and guests. Being met with hostility instead of basic courtesy is not only unprofessional, it’s bad business. If management values customer experience, I would strongly suggest addressing how visitors are greeted. One unpleasant interaction was enough to make us question whether we’d want to return. The younger staff were pretty welcoming it was the older more heavy set woman who was condescending.
