Spring Dale is a Princeton-area club with a classic, traditional golf rhythm and a course that rewards steady execution rather than overpowering length. The layout typically emphasizes positioning—place tee shots in play, then hit precise approaches to the correct sections of greens. It’s a course where distance control is essential, especially when pins are tucked and greens are running firm and fast. The setting often feels calm and established, making the round as enjoyable for the atmosphere as for the golf itself. It’s also a course with strong replay value, since learning where to miss and how to manage the tougher holes can save strokes quickly. If you want classic Central Jersey country club golf with a measured, strategic test, Spring Dale is a great fit.

It's a peaceful place to eat. Everything is good and reasonably priced. Keep in mind NO JEANS if you weren't aware.

Left a wedge behind during a parent-child event hosted at the club in the summer. Called the pro shop the next day who confirmed they had it and were keeping it until I could pick it up. When I called to arrange to come by and get it in the Fall, they said they couldn't locate it anywhere and still haven't been able to.... Not what I would have expected at a private club.

Updating review. If you qualify for the university rate this is worthwhile as a one off. The course has few hazards or challenges until the green despite deep rough. The greens are sloped with weird tricky pins generally. The road noise is terrible from Alexander. The contract they make university members sign is laughable as are the extra rules. Overall would reclaim for more space for the undergrads.

Here for a Christmas Party, lovely rooms each with their own distinctive glow. I've played the golf course 1500 times and never tire of it. Greens that sheen in the morning Sun. Fairways like butter as you walk them, which you are encouraged to do. I use every club in the bag every time I play #TheDale. Wonderful, diverse membership, fascinating people from all walks of life. Awesome, friendly, staff that make you and your guests feel at home, and a top-notch professional shop running a varied and engaging golf tournament program. A very special place!
