Newton is a classic Sussex County private club that delivers traditional golf in a quieter, small-town setting. The course tends to reward disciplined, straight play—keep it in position off the tee and you’ll give yourself plenty of chances. It’s not about overwhelming length; it’s about steady execution, smart targets, and avoiding careless mistakes around greens. Because it’s designed for member play, the routing has a comfortable rhythm and replay value—you learn where to miss, when to lay back, and how to manage the tougher holes. The overall vibe feels welcoming and community-driven, making it a great example of a local private club that takes its golf seriously. If you like understated, classic golf without a lot of flash, Newton fits well.

I have golfed here once a year in the Lakeland Bank Annual Outing and enjoy good food and drink. Excellent hosts for outings. I cannot attest to memberships as I am always a guest. However, they treat you like you are a member anyway.

Played 18 holes here with a member and had a great time. Course was top notch - couldn't find a weed anywhere on the course. Good greens and traps- well maintained.
