Description

Charleston Springs North plays with a links-inspired personality—wide, undulating corridors, native grasses, and a feel that’s more open and wind-influenced than typical tree-lined Jersey golf. It’s built to be a championship-caliber test, so you’ll often face tee shots where choosing the correct line is more important than simply hitting the fairway. The scale of the property lets holes breathe, but that openness also means the course can expose mistakes fast, especially when the wind is up. Approach shots tend to be the differentiator, because the greens are designed to reward the correct angle and trajectory rather than just “somewhere on the surface.” It’s a great course for players who enjoy strategic golf—using slopes, taking conservative targets, and accepting that the smart miss is part of the plan. If you like modern public golf that feels big, bold, and purposeful, the North Course delivers.

Charleston South. Early tee time. Muggy but ok. Sand traps remain a challenge at Charleston, both North and South. They lack sand and drainage. What sand they do have becomes hard packed, causing the club to skip.

Grew up learning the game in New Jersey, but now reside in South Carolina.. I missed the distinct feel of the courses in Jersey as opposed to the flat swamp golf of Myrtle Beach. Don't take courses like this for granted! And FIX YOUR BALL MARKS!

PLAY HERE BEFORE THE 2023 GOLF SEASON IS OVER! *I’ve played thrice since August* This place is so well run. From the extensive short game practice area to the massive practice putting greens, this is a must play course. As my photos show, the fairways and fringe are in phenomenal condition. I played during late August, mid-September, and early October and the place stays PRIME. Pace of play is great and the staff are quite friendly. Arrive early and take advantage of the practice areas. The South course is challenging enough even when playing from the tips. All parts of your game are used when here. Seriously, get here and play.

Very well kept Southern course that was a pleasure to play. Recommend getting a golf cart in playing the South course as it is quite a hike and likely a lot for someone who's not used to a lot of up and downhill hiking. They also have a pudding chipping and driving range to use. Can't wait to go try the North Course!

Absolutely beautiful course, especially considering it’s public. North is wide open with tall grass and minimal trees. South is more manicured with more trees and is a bit narrower. South is slightly more challenging, in my opinion. It has the only driving range I can find in the area with real grass and is reasonably priced ($6 small bucket). Pro tip: you do not need a county card to play 9 holes at twilight, and $17 is hard to beat.
