Pine Brook is a community-style public course designed for enjoyable rounds, steady pace, and accessible strategy. The layout tends to reward keeping the ball in play and choosing sensible targets into greens, which makes it friendly for newer golfers while still letting better players score. Because it isn’t built around extreme length, the round often becomes a test of irons, wedges, and putting speed rather than driver dominance. It’s a great repeat-play track—learn the safe lines, avoid the penalty areas, and you can consistently post good numbers. The overall vibe is relaxed and local, making it easy to fit into a normal week without feeling like a big production. If you want straightforward public golf that still gives you real scoring golf, Pine Brook is a comfortable pick.

Great executive (par 61), easily walkable, shady, well-maintained course. A lot of beginners play here and tee times are aplenty, for a Monmouth course. Lots of par 3s, with some fun par 4s on the back 9.

Great county course for the price, Matinee is literally $20 for 9 holes! Can’t beat the value for a chance to work on your short game with this small course or to teach others to play without the game becoming intimidating! It’s Never too busy, always a great game improver, give it a try!

I don't know what people are talking about, Paul in the pro shop was super accommodating and friendly. The starter, can't remember his name , was also cheerful and friendly, loved the course and definitely will be back .

I like this golf course, great for beginners and average golfers. Also very good for experienced golfers to tighten up your close game. Just wish they had more time between "T" times.

Place is a dump and always has been. Muck holes litter fairways from hole one onwards and bunkers are silt and dirt from road debris, no one there has a clue about golf so you get impossible pins if they happen to change them that month. I think they should just bulldoze it. Also pop in the pro shop and look at the walls bowing out and ask about the mold smell. Remember it’s Monmouth County operated so don’t let them be jerks and be rude to you.
