Atlantis is a public course known for being one of Ocean County’s better “everyday” golf options—playable, well-routed, and friendly for repeat rounds. The course generally rewards steady driving and solid approach distance control rather than extreme length. Many holes encourage smart, conservative targets because hazards and rough can punish predictable misses if you get greedy. It’s also a popular spot for leagues and regulars, which gives it a community, “home course” feel. When greens are rolling, putting becomes a real separator, because you’ll have plenty of chances if you’re hitting greens—but you need to convert. If you want a dependable public 18 near the Shore corridor that still feels like real golf, Atlantis fits well.

Really enjoy the course and is well maintained for a county course but honestly the pace of play is brutal! Past 4 times of playing here haven’t been able to finish the round due to sunsets. If they controlled the pace of play it would be a 5 start for me.

During the golf season, the course is in great shape. This year there have been some disruptions but that is only because they are working to make significant improvements. This is a great course at a great price. The staff is friendly and professional.

Would give 0 stars if I could. The staff is absolutely the most arrogant we have ever met. The person mowing mowed over 4 of our balls and shred them to pieces! How awful!!!!! Visiting out of state and less than impressed. Tee boxes are in the worst shape I have ever seen. Ball marks are not repaired on any hole. AND after we teed off 20 minutes ahead of our scheduled time we got followed and stalked by the warden telling us to get going when we were on pace with the group ahead of us. This course isn’t special yet they are acting like they are hiding something here!!!!!

For a public county course it is ok, tee boxes are beat up and right now there is underground construction going on throughout the course so some of the fairways are not in the best shape. I am used to playing Mercer County courses which are much better but with an Ocean County resident card you can’t beat $36 for 18 holes with cart at Atlantis. UPDATE 2026: Added a star as the course is in fantastic shape after the irrigation system install last year! A great alternative to LBI National which in my opinion is a nicer course but nowhere near worth what they charge for a round.

Course was in OK condition some greens were in bad shape. Thought we signed up for the two dollar lunch, but it turns out that we did not which we found out when we were checking in. We wanted the two dollar lunch and express that to the person behind the counter, but they said there is nothing that they can do. This was our first time at the course coming all the way down from Monmouth County And the fact that there was no leniency to understand the misunderstanding, we will never be coming down to golf at Atlantis ever again.
