So tad expensive course(300 CAD), definitely worth playing it at least once, was a really great course with St Andrew’s,feel, love the links style. Challenging holes and greens. Great old style course. Windy as heck, which always adds fun lol

Beautiful course, amazing views, and a great golfing experience.

Ballyowen is hands down one of the most beautiful public golf courses I’ve ever played. The views are unbelievable!! rolling hills, massive skies, perfectly maintained fairways, and a true links-style feel that honestly makes you forget you’re in New Jersey. Every hole felt like a postcard. The course conditions were outstanding from tee to green. Fairways were immaculate, greens rolled pure, and the layout was both challenging and incredibly fun. You can tell a ton of care goes into maintaining this place. The clubhouse and overall atmosphere were awesome too. Everything felt upscale without being pretentious. Staff was friendly, pace of play moved well, and the entire day just felt like a premium golf experience. If you’re a golfer in NJ and haven’t played Ballyowen yet, you’re missing out. Absolute gem of a course. Small warning. I was told that the pace of play can get very slow on the weekend. My friend and I got through 18 holes in 3 hours on a Thursday (4pm tee time).

Beautiful course. Wild how all the fairways were completely green despite the coñd weather. Had a bit of an issue in the morning with something unrelated and the gentleman at the pro shop desk was very accommodating. Would love to come back again when its warmer than 25 degrees!

I’ve played here a few times now. Course layout is fantastic & offers great options for how much you want to test yourself. The only downside this time was that the greens had been cored recently & they were in the process of scarifying the fairways. I understand it needs to be done but at no stage was I advised that this maintenance was being carried out & surprised they didn’t offer a discount as it definitely affects your enjoyment. Final comment is don’t take the advice on the card about which tees to play from. It recommends Black tees for 0-6 handicaps, Gold tees for 7-10 handicaps, Blue tees for 11-18 handicaps & White tees for 19+ handicaps. I’m a 5 handicap & played the Gold tees which was a good test. Blue tees would have been fun but I’d just be beating myself up if I played Black tees. I was lucky that I played on a quiet day so the round was quick (3hrs) but if people follow the guidance & it’s busy, I’d expect a 5+hr round.
