Course conditions were solid, but staff kept rushing us even with groups ahead — definitely could be much friendlier. Still an okay round overall.

If I could go lower I would. I used to play here over 10 years ago and it was an ok golf course let's say between 3 and 4 stars. Since then the county has acquired it and ran it to the ground. The course conditions are best described as dog track. Fairways are OK at best and that's where the good praises end. The greens have mini sand bunkers in them as if the solution to growing grass in a patch of grass (2 foot around) that's missing was to dump some sand from the regular bunker into the patch and hope for the best. The trees have overgrown so much that it eliminates the ability to flight balls into the greens. The tee boxes look as though they took a car and did dirt burnouts on them. I haven't played overpeck recently but I would say that Soldier Hill is the worst course bergen county controls. Im actually embarrassed that this course is in bergen county. Truly a dog track and someone should be fired for managing it.

04-17-2025 Friday 1:10 pm First time play!! Wet'n wild, shower on and off. But beautiful sunny day as well. Very good maintenance on fairways~ Fairways are narrow and long. Green is very neat and nice. Good job. And very fast, almost private club Speed 5.5 Warm Welcoming Club House staffs. Starter ranger, tough and firmed but very nice with big smiles.

Most of bergen county golf course staffs especially the newer employees are known to be rude but those at Soldier Hill are beyond acceptable. I've been golfing there for 20 years and have been friends with number of them that's been around for a long time. But the new ones act like theyre the kings and treat the customers like servants with extreme disrespect. They should be re-trained on how to talk to customers. I'd stay away from this course for as long as I can if not for good so I won't be playing golf with bad feeling.
