Twisted Dunes is hard! Excellent and extremely challenging design. This may be one of the most difficult golf courses I ever played. Tricks of the eye make approaches and tee shots intimidating. Sometimes expansive tiered greens and narrow to wide angle plays made every shot a true challenge. Also, it’s a little long: some par 4’s from the whites even with a great drive result in a long iron onto the green and some par 3’s may be out of reach for some who play from the whites. The facilities were much better than other reviews reported. I brought my own drinks but I didn’t have to. Cart girl. Dirt paths on both sides of each hole makes the wide fairways easier to deal with and play goes faster, but still allow 5 hours to play. Long fescue areas, plenty of water to hit over, and waste areas. Great mix. Most traps look like the bottom of your aquarium, but a few have real sand. Very high on my list of golf courses to play if you are in the area. Love the challenge! Makes me want to come back.

I got my first ever hole in 1 here today. Automatic 5 stars. The course was a fun layout, great conditions, great everything! And, not to take away from my round, it was not too difficult from the ladies’ tees.

What a beauty. Not sure if it fits the category “hidden gem” - as I’m an out of towner - but it wasn’t overly busy and I had a blast Not sure you’ll get better value for ~$80 - better than Seaview for example, imho

Twisted Dune was tougher than I expected, but once I found my rhythm, it turned into a really fun round. The course is beautiful, with a true links-style layout and great conditions. We had a minor issue early on with a ranger concerned about pace of play, though we were actually being held up by a slower group ahead—no big deal. The rest of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I’d heard the greens were lightning fast, but they rolled reasonably—definitely slower than most private tracks I’ve played. For the price and location, it’s a great value. I’d definitely play here again.

The course was very nice and good fun challenge. However both the guy in the clubhouse and the cart guy were extremely rude and had an attitude with me and my 2 buddies. I get it we are the 5:45 tee time and you expected the rain to come and get you out early. But the rain held off we had the tee time booked and we finished 8/9 holes we paid for. They were extremely disrespectful and snarky with us. If anyone of my employees acted that way towards a customer they would be gone immediately.
