Overall I liked playing Tamarack’s West course. The layout is nice with some fun holes. The sand traps were in excellent condition as were most of the fairways. The tee boxes were a different story. They were either not mowed, it was like you’re teeing off in the rough or there was more dirt than grass. The beverage cart service was very good as was the snack shack at the turn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They should put images of the hole layout on the scorecard or at the tee boxes so that golfers have an idea where to aim and what hazards are present.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve had the pleasure of playing both the East and recently renovated West course and had a great time on both. Tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers were all in great shape. The West played much harder for me than the East. I really enjoyed how much water came into play on both courses forcing me to be more strategic in my play. (Not sure why I don’t always play like that) I shot an 82 on the East and a 93 on the West. Now that I’m more familiar with the West, I can’t wait to try again. Great course with fast pace of play, challenging holes and reasonable green fees.

We (with my son) played the west course. The greens were fast and well maintained. There were some fairways that could have been better (grass was in patches). Overall very good. Lot of dog legs and water hazards.

I have been playing Tamarack for over 20 years. I've met alot of nice people and played great golf and mentally crushing bad golf. When they were renovating the East, I was excited like a kid before Christmas. I prefer the East. East is tough but beautiful! West is longer from the whites than East. You just have to hit it fairly straight on the West and you can score. East, in my opinion, has more risk reward shots. Now for the bad. Weekend rounds can be 5 to 6 hours. No golf sheriff. The West after renovation price has peaked! Senior w power cart is north of $60 on weekends. Its really the only 36 hole course in any county nearby. Its a Fun course and you get to meet alot of fun guys.

I play both the East and West courses regularly, and while the renovations are appreciated, the overall experience doesn’t match the significantly higher green fees—especially for a county course. Even with a resident card, the pricing feels out of line compared to other county courses in the area, with the West course in particular feeling overpriced for what’s offered. There are also some basic amenities missing. There are very few benches on either course—maybe one or two total—which makes it tough during slower rounds or for older players. The removal of water coolers during COVID made sense at the time, but it’s overdue to bring them back. At the very least, there should be a water dispenser in the clubhouse so players can refill bottles. On top of that, all of the ball washers are empty and not maintained, which is disappointing given the cost to play. One other issue: on the West course, the port-a-potty next to the ladies tee on hole 17 is poorly placed. It would make much more sense near holes 14 or 15, or positioned behind the back tee on 17 so it can be used by multiple holes without being so intrusive. Overall, the course has potential, but right now the pricing doesn’t align with the level of amenities and upkeep.
