Description

Blue Heron Pines is a South Jersey daily-fee course known for a modern, well-maintained layout that balances playability with real scoring demands. The routing typically mixes open holes with more defined corridors, rewarding golfers who position tee shots to open the best angles into greens. It can play very differently depending on conditions—when it’s firm, landing spots and trajectories matter; when it’s soft, distance control becomes the key. The course is also known for being a strong outing and league venue, offering a polished experience without private-club barriers. Scoring well often comes from patience: avoid big mistakes, take center-of-green targets, and let birdies come from good positions. If you want a premium-feel public round in the Atlantic City/Cherry Hill corridor, Blue Heron Pines is a strong pick.

We booked BHP for our wedding and the venue was SO workable with absolutely everything we asked for and wanted. The staff on the day of was unbelievable!! All so kind, all looked so happy to be there and all were wildly attentive and got us anything we needed. Everything ran so smoothly from start to finish and they met our every request. The food options were amazing, which we’ve heard repeatedly from our guests, were all incredible. I truly don’t have a single complaint. We are SO happy with our experience and can’t thank BHP for being part of all the magic on such a special day! What a beautiful space!!

Our dream wedding venue. BHP was the first and only venue we looked at. I wanted rustic, indoor/outdoor and NO CARPET (lol). Tara & Sarah answered every question & panic for 2 years with no hesitation. On our wedding day, everyone was on point, were so so nice & made sure we had the most perfect day. The food was great, the dessert room was to die for & the staff were all 10/10. I could not recommend this venue enough. I loved every second of planning my wedding with them and I still dream about our special day.

I had my wedding here on 10/3/25. Tara & Sarah were absolutely amazing throughout the entire process! Not only were they awesome to work with, but the pricing is amazing as well as the food. Our guests were raving about how great not only the food but also the customer service was. Every question we had about anything to do with the wedding instantly Tara answered any questions & accommodated us to the best of her ability. Would absolutely recommend Blue Heron Pines to anyone who is looking for an amazing venue to have their wedding at!!!! Not only is the space beautiful, but everything is executed with professionalism & hard work.

Blue Heron Pines remains one of the top public golf courses near Atlantic City for layout, amenities, and hospitality. While the green conditions were disappointing this time, everything else—from the clubhouse to pace of play—delivered a great experience. With a return visit, there’s definitely more to enjoy here. 1. Course Layout: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Among the multiple courses near Atlantic City, this layout stands out as one of the top. It’s not overly difficult, but it’s well-designed, interesting, and fun to play. 2. Tee Box Condition: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Tee boxes were generally well-kept. A few areas could use more care, but nothing major. Good maintenance overall. 3. Fairway Condition: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) Fairways were playable but not in their best shape. Some patchy areas and inconsistent turf brought down the rating. 4. Green Condition: ⭐️⭐️ (2/5) Unfortunately, the greens were in poor condition during this round. Slow, bumpy, and not well-maintained. A noticeable drop in quality. 5. Value for Money: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Reasonably priced for a weekend morning round. While green conditions were a letdown, the overall experience and amenities still made it worth the cost. 6. Clubhouse: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Outstanding. The clubhouse is modern, clean, and welcoming—with excellent staff service. The attached restaurant, 7 Tap Tavern, adds extra charm and convenience. 7. Pace of Play: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) For a Saturday morning, the pace was surprisingly smooth. No significant delays, though not quite fast enough for a perfect score. 8. Cart: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Standard electric carts, comfortable and functional. GPS was available, which was a plus. A solid experience overall. 9. Specialty: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) The Seven Tap Tavern, friendly service throughout, and overall atmosphere give this course a strong personality. Despite the green issues, these unique touches boost the experience.

As a homeowner on the course and a long-time member, it pains me to say this is by far the worst shape Blue Heron Pines has ever been in. My group and I each pay over $4,500 annually for our membership, and the product we’re getting this year is awful. All 18 greens have patchy dead grass—nothing but dirt and dust. The superintendent, who is rarely seen and comes off as miserable when he is, lost every green on the course, and there’s been zero accountability from anyone in management. The excuse? “The weather.” Meanwhile, other local courses are in spectacular condition, which completely disproves that excuse. Our entire group who typically plays every morning has been forced to play elsewhere just to enjoy the game again. We get on these greens and just laugh at what they’ve become. We’ve had great weather and can’t enjoy the game we love. It’s frustrating and sad to see the decline of what was once a top-tier public course. The lack of transparency and ownership from management is shocking, and they seem more interested in brushing off concerns than fixing the problem. Members who have supported this club for years just want a better product. Until serious changes are made, I can’t recommend this course to anyone especially for the prices they are charging. I’m not sure how I can confidently pay another $5000 to join back to only have the same results. This is the first time ever my group is considering jumping ship, we have no confidence in the team as we can’t get answers from the GM or owner. Also our driving range grass is never opened. We have ample grass but we’re never allowed to use it. I can’t recall a recent time where the grass was used and it’s frustrating. More importantly what grass is left is dead and similar to some fairway conditions. Images attached. We are pleading for help. Please please please fix this. To the owner: Fire the superintendent. Move him to another course, he’s a miserable human and the course is reflective of his awful personality. The previous one was a blessing, bring him back from running deer. I watch the current super drink more beers on 18 at his house than actually do work and fix the course. It’s a disgrace and I guess I’m the idiot for paying every year and expecting something better. Can’t wait for JAWS to jerk me around at the holiday party and say he’s sorry.
