We're working on a fix ASAP.
Someone was detained and didn't open the gates on the morning of July 13th. The owner showed up to open them.... really really nice guy and told us all we had free golf for the inconvenience. It was an amazing day and he is an amazing person to make that sacrifice. I don't know his name but thank you thank you thank you ...what a wonderful thing to do!!! People like that create a loyal respectful following that takes care of the course. Every time we golf there, we golf with people who are fixing other people's ball marks and other people's divots. And if everybody does that the course stays nice!!! Thank you so much for the wonderful gesture of free golf and a chance to see that a good person owns Sagamore 🙂⛳😎. Not to mention that the rest of the crew is wonderful too. They give you a sense of membership even though it's a public course! Thank you to everyone at Sagamore in Greenland.

Amazing course and staff! Course is always in great shape. Mostly wide but with fair amounts of hazards and angles that force you to play smart. Laid back vibes while still maintaining high quality golf. Staff are super friendly and always in good spirits. Zero judgement and happy to share laughs and contribute to a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. I play all around the Seacoast, and Sag is by far my favorite course. Excellent practice facility across the street as well.

Played 18 holes. The course is in great shape. Only saw the drink cart once; on a hot hot day this was discouraging. Didn't enjoy the first and 18th holes; they have blind reachable danger that's quite unfair for a first timer on the course. The course is open, with only a few holes feeling like a bowling alley. Would play again.

4 stars for quality of course, 1 star for the staff. I play here at least once a week on average, and the course itself is great for the cost, no issues there. Almost all of the staff are also great, including the younger men and all the ladies who work there. My issue is with two older gentlemen who work here. The one who works in the pro shop and checks people in has on multiple occasions ignored me at the counter for minutes on end while he was busy chatting with other older gentlemen sitting at the tables. One time it took 6 minutes for him to even come over to me, and then when he did, he didn’t even say hello, but rather glared at me like I was interrupting something. He then proceeded to take 5 more minutes fiddling with the computer before I could pay and get the receipt for the starter. After all that, he had the audacity to say I was late, even though I was there 25 minutes before my scheduled tee time. I’ve never been to a golf course that takes longer to check in to than sagamore when this man is working the desk. He is the most unfriendly pro shop employee I’ve ever come across. The other older gentleman is one of the starters. I was a single on this day. I checked in with a friendly young guy in the pro shop, bought a breakfast sandwich from a very friendly lady, and went outside with 14 minutes to spare before my scheduled tee time. I went over to the starter shack and no one was in there, so I looked around and noticed only what looked like a few groups of guys waiting to tee off, but no starter that I could tell of or recognize. I figured they were maybe running behind, so I sat down in one of the chairs and ate my sandwich, waiting for the starter to show up. After 4-5 minutes, I eventually I saw someone walk to the shack from behind the golf carts that were lined up already, so I went over, asked if he was the starter, and then handed him my receipt and told him my scheduled tee time. He immediately raised his voice and said he had just sent that group out already (9 minutes earlier than scheduled) and asked why I didn’t check in with him earlier. I told him I was looking all over for the starter but did not see anyone in the shack or the area around it, so I sat and waited until I saw the starter return. He then claims he had been in that area the entire time, even though he had been on the other side of a row of golf carts talking with a group of guys around the carts. He’s literally wearing golf attire, just like the other actual golfers were, so how am I supposed to know he’s the starter if he looks like he’s just waiting to tee off while yapping away with his buddies??? I held my tongue and did not argue when he said he had been there the whole time, and he ended up telling me to go meet the group in the fairway and drop with them, so I didn’t get to hit a tee shot. He could have so easily been friendly about this and just gave a suggestion to show up earlier next time in case they send groups out early. I have talked with some other guys I’ve played with here, and it appears that younger men tend to have a hard time with these two guys, but I haven’t heard as much from older men about them, aside from how long it can take to check in. I really wish someone would tell these older gentlemen to lighten up a bit and focus on their job. I am not sure what they have against younger golfers, but it’s pretty obvious at this point it’s something, and I’m not the only one who has noticed it. I highly suggest ignoring the posted rule of showing up 15 minutes early, and push it back to 30-45 minutes early, especially if you’re under the age of 30. Again, most of the staff here are excellent and I’ve had nothing but pleasant interactions, but these two older guys have some sort of vendetta against young people trying to play some golf.

Very nice course. Well maintained. Pretty wide open off the tee but shots into the green often have pretty severe elevation changes. The greens are pretty well kept with a lot of slope. Make sure you stay below the hole. Pretty challenging for all handicaps.
