***Team Derrico*** had a large group tee time for 6 all needing rentals. EMILY was a great pleasure and did her best to make necessary accommodations for us. When we arrived for our tee time, the group of 2 checking in in front of us rented the last set of clubs. Emily was flabbergasted that every set of clubs they had were used because they rarely have people play that use rentals. Emily called the owner, Julie, and Julie recommended we come back at 3p when the other large group with rentals should be back. Julie waived the club rental for us and was a great pleasure to socialize with when we returned for our revised 3p tee time. ***Now for the course***The layout for the course is awesome, no adjacent holes, technical but forgiving, great condition, and perfect greens. My only advice is adding better yardage markers. Obtaining yardage markers was very difficult and made for guessing yardages, not the end of the world for the newbies playing in our group. I ended up liking the driver in one of the rental sets so much that I had the cart barn kid contact the owner to ask if I could buy it off of her. I currently use a TaylorMade RBZ driver at home, but something about this 400cc Dunlop POS driver just worked perfect for me. Drove the green on the 3rd hole and made it between the bunker and green on the 5th hole, as well as hit every fairway…it was a match made in heaven. Julie agreed to sell me the driver and I handed to kid cash and we were on our way. WE WILL BE BACK IN NOVEMBER, weather permitting!

In its day this course used to have more water hazards than bunkers. Today it's still a big enough challenge that you'll appreciate the pars and dream of that coming birdie. Beautiful ⛳ Update on 7/3/24. This is the first time I've been to this course since the updated 2 of their par threes. Absolutely beautiful. Love, love, love seeing the water here again. Still so much fun to play. This course is in the best shape I've seen in years. Only complaint was the outhouse, it needed cleaned badly. Don't want to get too tragic,bso I'll just stick to needing clean badly. Beautiful course, you won't be disappointed playing here. ⛳🏌️🇺🇸

Great place to golf. Houses are very close and easy to hit if you slice the ball. Overall we had a great time and loved the course. I will play this course again.

While The Ranch at Desert Lakes is known for its beautiful greens and laid-back golf vibes (which I’ve enjoyed in the past), this time I visited for something totally different—and I’m so glad I did! I attended their Make & Take event, where we crafted our own Kahlúa and peppermint espresso martinis. It was my first time joining, and the experience was a total hit! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for relaxing and getting creative. What made it even more special was the thoughtful touch—they provided each of us with a recipe in a protective sleeve, perfect for starting a drink recipe binder. If you keep coming back each month, you’ll build a whole collection of delicious cocktails and memories. This event is such a fun twist on the traditional golf course experience. Whether you're a golfer or just looking for a unique night out, I highly recommend checking it out. I’m already looking forward to next month’s creation!

My grandmother bought her home in 2000. Her backyard was over the property line by a few feet according to their surveyors. She was told that if she didn't pay that her backyard would be torn up by the big fella who drives his black truck on the golf kart path behind everyone's homes in the morning. She was sold her house as is and has never extended her property. There is literally nothing that can be built behind her home. So now her yard is going to be torn up. She is on a fixed income and can't afford to pay for the extra land that the golf course is asking for. They have meetings in the clubhouse with their lawyers and my grandmother can't afford a lawyer. Just FYI for those of you that spend your money to play here.
