Loved this course. Tucked up at the northern end of Carson City, quite the gem. Front nine and back nine play completely different. Front is flat layout. Back is a climb up. Will defines play here again when visiting. Oh and I forgot to mention, the club house and driving range is automobile themed. Old gas station relics, old cars, and a 50's inspired diner look in the club house. Will probably ho there just for lunch, looks fun.

If I could rate this place higher than 5 stars I would. We came for a bachelor party with a group of 7 and had a fantastic time. The reviews about the staff don’t do it justice - this is by far and away the most passionate, knowledgeable and friendly staff I have ever experienced. As the game of golf grows, more and more courses become pessimistic about newer golfers. Silver Oak proudly embraces it. Every member of the staff was so welcoming and I gotta say it was such a refreshing experience! The pro shop has one of the most vast and unique collections of equipment I have ever seen and every item was priced extremely fairly. The food selection at the bar was delicious, our group of 7 tried several items and enjoyed all of it. They use Cleveland clubs for their rentals and they handled beautifully. Finally, the front 9 was a gorgeous and challenging trek up and down one of the beautiful mountains (play Hole 6 from the tips, you won’t regret it! It’s an amazing view). The back 9 is a flatter run but has some amazing layouts with creative water hazards. This place is a must experience. I will absolutely make an effort to return in the near future.

Played here yesterday with my son and really enjoyed our day. First off the staff here were exceptional. From the pro shop to the bar tender to the marshal they were so friendly and helpful. My son’s girlfriend left her purse in her cart and we got a half hour away and had to go back for it and although they were closed by that time the cart guys and the woman who bartended and the office person and the marshal all went all out to find her purse when all they must wanted was to go home I am sure. They were fabulous hosts at this really nice course. And the golf course is really nice too. A ton of character on the front nine up and down the surrounding hills with great views. A few holes seemed straight the mountain and there were a couple tee shots launching off cliffs. Pretty fun nine and challenging too. The back nine is more traditional and flat with water hazards to keep it interesting. Lots of nice retirement community houses along the back nine too. I would happily play this course again and I will make a point to do so next time I visit my son in Tahoe
