Willow Lakes is a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design on Offutt Air Force Base, open to the public with military priority. Water, sand and angled fairways create a steady tactical test, and the wind off the river corridor adds bite on exposed holes. From the back tees it plays as a full-length championship course, but four sets of tees keep it fair for all skills. The facility invested in a new, full-size driving range with target greens, complementing two practice putting greens. It's a well-conditioned, tournament-ready venue with classic RTJ shot values.

The greens are fast and the fairways are well maintained. The trees will haunt you and the course will challenge you. I love the water features and couldn't wait to come back. The food will blow your mind with choices and taste too. The air force's most hidden gem and best course for sure.

My first time going here and I was extremely pleased and happy. Course was in pretty solid shape. If I had any criticism. It’s the cart paths but hey. It’s not enough to poop on this place. It’s challenging as hell. Those greens man. Sheesh. My only real complaint is the range balls. Don’t get too many compared to the other courses. But then you go get the food in the clubhouse and you forget all about that. Phenomenal golf course food. That hot link will cook the 19th hole if you have a sensitive gut. But loved every minute of my round yesterday. Couldn’t even be mad at my score.

Course was in nice shape for the end of April. The greens had just been aerated and were pretty fast. Clubhouse was nice! The pace on a Saturday was really slow. It took us 3 hours for the 1st 9 holes and 2.5 hrs on the back.

This is a tough course, always pretty well maintained. Rough definitely needed a trim. One of my favorites in the metro area. I think #8 and #9 are two of the toughest back to back holes on any course I've ever played.

I’ve played courses all around the area, and most of them are welcoming to families and allow kids out on the course. I recently showed up to play at Willow Lakes Golf Course with my kids who genuinely enjoy the game and was disappointed to be told they weren’t allowed on the course. As a military course, I expected a more family-friendly environment. It’s frustrating that other local courses are accommodating and encourage young players, while this one enforces a policy that limits that experience. Golf is a game that should be introduced and nurtured early, and courses like this should be helping kids grow their interest, not turning them away. I hope management reconsiders and works toward being more inclusive for families.
