This time of year, August/September, the heat really takes a toll on the greens. Course is still in great condition overall. Almost had a hole in one on #15.

I’m a new golfer and this seemed like a hard course but very nice. We were a bit stacked on top of each other but it worked out. Took a lesson from Rick Grayson and Russ, which was awesome.

I recently participated in a gold tournament at Rivercut. The course was clean and well kept, the greens were great! The staff that I interact with did a fantastic job. I will be back for another round.

Played the course today, had 11am tee time. Prior to us teeing off they had two groups of 4 that were clearly playing together and the youngest guy in the group was maybe 80. (Nothing against the elderly) and a threesome behind them. It took the group of 8 at least 20 minutes to just get off the first tee box.by the 4th hole my twosome got to visit with the threesome in front of us the twosome behind us on every tee box the rest of the way. When we finally ask about playing through they split into groups of four and told us we couldn’t get through because the group in front of them Now to the course. The greens are absolutely atrocious and it doesn’t really make sense because the other two Springfield public courses don’t look like this. The front 9 rolls incredibly slower than the back and three green on the back should have been completely shut down and have players use a temporary green until they can fix the issue. I don’t really understand the premium pricing when the property is in such horrible shape. How can the city manage to have playable property in Horton Smith and Bill and Payne Stewart but this place that KY3 refers to as a “TOP TEN PUBLIC COURSE IN THE STATE OF MISSOURI” looks like they’re intentionally trying to run it down… Rivercut isn’t a top ten public in the Springfield surrounding area let alone the entire state. It has length and that’s all. Please find someone to fix it and perhaps actually Marshall the course.

This is a great municipal golf course. A few years ago it was rated number one public course in Missouri. The course itself has a country club feel though the greens aren’t as fast as a country club. But nice sand traps and a lot of added beauty and terrain to make it more difficult than a normal municipal course. I think it’s a terrific course. I play it sometimes on Monday when my country club is closed. It has a good driving range but has an excellent chipping range. There’s also a free small par three course with artificial greens on the far east side that you can practice on as well.
