Our group played all 27 holes here and had a great time. We thought the River was the best 9-hole stretch, but this was likely because Mountain was cart-path-only. We felt like Links wasn't worth the price. We finished River in about 2h15min and Mountain in 2h45min. Mountain was likely slower because of the cart rules that day. Links was the least special of the 27 holes and likely better to skip. We were on pace to finish Links in about 90 minutes, but began to get held up on hole 6. When we got to hole 8, the group ahead of us hadn't tee'd off yet and we could see the group ahead of them on the 9th tee box. It was a twosome - one who didn't know how to golf and someone teaching them. We sat and watching them hit 5 balls off the tee. We played the 8th hole twice and then chipped and putted on the hole 8 green for 10 minutes before the group ahead of us could finally tee off on 9. I don't understand how a marshal wasn't out there to push the pace since the track closes on two par 5s and a par 3. Instead of finishing in 90min, we finished in 2h10min.

Ozarks National is easily one of my favorite courses. Designed by Coore and Crenshaw, it’s an absolute gem set deep in the Ozark Mountains. I’ve had the chance to play Kapalua’s Plantation Course, and the similarities really stand out—the sweeping views, dramatic elevation changes, and those “infinity” greens that seem to melt into the landscape. It’s a challenging layout, especially off the tee, where precision and smart positioning are essential. But what truly sets it apart is how naturally it fits into its surroundings. Scenic almost feels like an understatement—this is a course that fully embraces and showcases the beauty of its environment. 9/10 The halfway houses and overall hospitality are unmatched. Big Cedar is truly something special—an experience that goes well beyond just the golf. Each course has its own tone and that’s what really makes it special. This course leans into nature and difficulty.

Ozark National was a beautiful course and a great stop on our trip, but I’d give it 4 stars instead of 5. The layout is fantastic, with dramatic elevation changes, sweeping views of the Ozarks, and a really fun variety of holes that kept our group of 16 entertained. It’s a challenging but fair track, and the design makes for an exciting round. That said, the course conditions were a little under kept—likely due to all the recent rain—which took away just a bit from the overall experience compared to the other courses we played. Even so, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the setting itself is stunning. With a little more attention to conditioning, Ozark National could easily match the other top-tier courses in the area.

We played Payne’s Valley, Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge and Top of The Rock. Out of the 3 18 hole courses everybody has a different ranking of Ozarks. Some thought it was the best, others the worst but mainly just depended on who played what course well. I would say Ozarks was the most challenging of the 3. The fairways and greens are large but if you miss the fairway you are going to have a hard time finding your ball. We played 10 days after aeration and you couldn’t tell at all. The course was in incredible shape. The staff is amazing. The marshals have water and wet towels every time you see them which was great on a hot day. My only complaint would be the pro shop. No restaurant or breakfast food. You have to go the whole way over to Payne’s valley. There’s food out on the course but just hot dogs and snacks (all complimentary by the way). One toilet in the club house as well which was odd. But all in all amazing course, staff and views.

Stunning views and challenging layout This course is the more difficult of the others in the area 🇺🇸👏🏽🐺. Very thankful to have added Ozarks National Golf Course to my tour history. I plan to come back and brew it up again in the future. Not cheap but worth the life experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
