Hi, I don’t usually typically with reviews, but I had a really bad experience Tuesday at LA Nickell. I don’t want the same experience to happen to another person. Me and my three friends golfed Tuesday November 14th 2025 and it was easily the worst experience I’ve ever had at a golf course. It was my first time playing Nickell, we got to hole one at our 9:20 Tee time and waited on the twosome in front of us. An older gentleman came up to us asking what time our Tee time was. I told him and he said we were up next. I was confused why he wasn’t golfing but he explained to us he was the Marshall and he enforces the rules of the golf course. So we start hole one with him 4 feet away watching us (obviously our first shots weren’t great) we didn’t warm up and we all felt pressure from him watching us. Right after teeing off he came up to us and said we need to pick up the pace while the twosome ahead was just getting off the green. He proceeded to come up to us the next 4 holes telling us we need to play faster. I told him we aren’t the best golfers and we paid over $130 for the three of us to have a relaxing day on the course. He told us we need to hit the driving range because we aren’t good enough, he told us we needed to play from the women’s tees, and he told us we’d need to scramble/not play our own golf balls. Hole number 7 was the last hole he came up to us. All three of us were on the fringe around the green. He made forced us to pick up our balls and go to the next hole. There wasn’t anyone on the tee box behind us or even on the green of the previous hole yet and if there was we would’ve been happy to let them play through. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had on any golf course mind you my first time golfing here. I RECOMMEND NEVER GOLFING AT NICKELL!!! AL Gusta, Links, or Tanglewood I highly recommended over La Nickell. I hope this review helps someone in the future!

This course is in really great shape beautiful green. The greens were in great shape just thoroughly enjoyed. The staff was unbelievable. Very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be coming back.

The rude customer service could be explained with further investigation into both the pros and minors that run the clubhouses! Greens crew 100% respectful. Sus activities be happening there without proper supervision!

First time playing this course while visiting Columbia. Fairways and greens in good shape. Will play again.

Great course with nice employees but it needs way more on course supervision. Can only make tee times for 4 but constantly 6somes that don’t let people play through. Drunk college kids, people sneaking on, etc. which I guess is what you’d expect from a public course. Impossible to get tee times in the morning even 6 days in advance sometimes! On the other end their drinks are very cheaply priced, the course is in decent shape for its low cost. Overall great golf experience for the prices if you come at the right time!
