The course is in great condition. HOWEVER, The clubhouse/owner allows the members to run the pace of play. We had a terrible experience when the Marshall interrupted our game twice. We finished 18 holes in 4 hrs and 30 minutes. PGA pace of play is 18 in 4:20 minutes. The clubhouse claims the phone was ringing off the hook and we were holding up the course. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

Always a great experience. Once a year they host Charlie 22 Outdoors, Operation Ting Off Tournament for the Veterans and guests. Always a great time and well done. Great course as well.

Always in excellent shape! The grounds crew does a great job. The range is one of the best in the area, and the staff is wonderful. It is a busy golf course, so be sure to make a tee time. However, the course difficulty is not super high, so the field generally plays a good pace. It's a great walking course as well.

Carthage is always a fun course to play! It's probably one of my favorites out of the local courses, the grounds are always well maintained, greens are always good and the carts are nice and comfortable seats. They seems to care about the game and growing it as a sport and want to get kids involved and playing. Im definitely checking into their junior pga for my kids.

After reading some of the reviews, it all makes sense. I would encourage you to look elsewhere if you are just the casual golfer that may take a little longer than the average. We paid for 18 but left after 10 after being told that we need to pick up the pace. At that point we had only let one team play through, which was back around 3-4, which was no problem since they were driving to the green as we were finishing up. We had no one else behind us the rest of the day, but apparently the club house still had to make a point that we were not fast enough for their liking. Maybe they can take the money we spent and buy some siding and replace what is falling off the clubhouse. Thankfully there is other places to golf in the area that we wont return. Pace of play for all players? Even though the next team behind us was 3-4 holes back? Point is that there was no reason to even approach us with this. Unfortunately, our perception was we were just not welcome since we were not some of your regulars. Maybe you should think of making it a private course or just state we would prefer that you do not play here if you do not keep a decent place. We golf just a few times a year and it’s honestly one of the few things we enjoy doing, sad that half of our day that was planned was ruined because we were “rushed” off of your course.
