Description

A classic private club in Rochester best known for its A.W. Tillinghast pedigree and strategic bunkering. The present 18-hole routing dates to the late 1920s and has since seen sympathetic restorations to recapture its Golden Age character. Rolling terrain and elevation shifts create a walkable but demanding test with slick, contoured greens. Conditioning is tournament-caliber and supported by full practice facilities. The club emphasizes member play, events, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

My husband and I got married here in October 2025, and I can't say enough good things about this venue. Their event staff were so helpful and responsive, answering every single tiny question I had about our big day. They accommodated us on many things, and it was easy to work with them to make our dreams for our wedding day come true. The day of our wedding, everything went incredibly smoothly, thanks in part to the staff there. They were kind and professional, and it was the most perfect day we could have asked for. I believe the events coordinator we worked with has left, unfortunately, but the entire staff as a whole were wonderful to work with, and they treated us, our wedding party, and our guests with such kindness. In addition, the venue itself is gorgeous. The outdoor ceremony site was perfect, and the reception hall is lovely by itself, even without any decor. The bridal room they have was perfect for our needs that day, with several mirrors for hair and makeup and plenty of storage space for belongings. If we had to do our wedding day over again, we would pick RGCC again and again. An enormous thank you to the staff for everything they did for us that day!

Rochester Golf & Country Club is a classic wedding venue that always photographs beautifully. The grounds are well kept and offer clean, timeless backdrops for portraits, while the indoor spaces feel polished and comfortable for receptions. Everything is laid out in a way that keeps the day moving smoothly without feeling rushed. It’s a dependable choice for couples who want an elegant setting that still feels relaxed and welcoming for their guests.

We golfed 18 holes on a Saturday and there were 0 beverage carts the entire time. Which is extremely strange especially for a Saturday at an expensive/higher end CC like that. They brought our lunch to us out on the driving range which was very handy and allowed us to warm up while we were waiting for food and hit the course right after eating. Course was pretty well maintained other than the greens have a lot of splotchy/bad turf, which is again very strange for a higher end CC. Dinner was okay. We sat on the patio for 20-25 minutes and never got service so we had to go inside to order and then tell them we were out there. Which is strange because the waitress had 2 other tables out there that she was serving and constantly checking on, but totally missed/avoided us. The member we were with wasn't very satisfied with their service or the course that day. If it were my membership that I was paying for, I would rate this place 1-2 stars for the aforementioned reasons. But it is a beautiful course and facility that is well maintained other than the greens being splotchy.

A really good golf course. Must be a very good player to score well. The course is super hilly except for 2 holes. It was in great shape. It was such a good golf experience.
