Course is back in good shape after the long green updates, which came with discounted pricing. Haven’t run into any issues with staff, and the course itself isn’t very penalizing for being 6715 yards—except hole 12 is about 580. Still, pace of play tends to run around 3:30 to 4:00 and it’s very walkable.

FYI: We're playing here now, and the group of 4 male players are smoking cigars and it affected our play going back to back (due to the staff pushing us to play quicker). We called the clubhouse, and the staff said smoking is allowed here.

I have always liked Gross, but the shape the greens are in…😱. They really have a lot of guts charging full price for a course with AWFUL greens that resemble moonscapes at times and are so slow you can’t believe it. Plus 3 temporary greens! I know the shape of greens is a result of an accident, but I will avoid Gross for a LONG time.

I have played this course probably 25 times over the last three years, and while I do normally love it for location and price, I have to admit this year it's absolutely a skip on playing. The last few years saw issues with pace of play and starters that, quit frankly, could use some training. These are all things that are easily dealt with. However, this year, the greens are quite literally the worst greens I've seen on any golf course...ever. The "warning" they have on the site that they are "almost 100%" is utterly false. They are not even close to ready and a few of them should be completely redone as I can't understand how you could possibly salvage them. Play any of the other courses throughout the metro, save your money.

Pay an arm and a leg for a course that is barely playable, i’m talking massive craters all over the green. The starter is beyond rude and got upset with our group for not teeing off 8 minutes before our tee time. Skip this place and head down the street to Columbia for a fun round of golf.
