Course is back in good shape after the long green updates, which came with discounted pricing. Haven’t run into any issues with staff, and the course itself isn’t very penalizing for being 6715 yards—except hole 12 is about 580. Still, pace of play tends to run around 3:30 to 4:00 and it’s very walkable.

I have played this course probably 25 times over the last three years, and while I do normally love it for location and price, I have to admit this year it's absolutely a skip on playing. The last few years saw issues with pace of play and starters that, quit frankly, could use some training. These are all things that are easily dealt with. However, this year, the greens are quite literally the worst greens I've seen on any golf course...ever. The "warning" they have on the site that they are "almost 100%" is utterly false. They are not even close to ready and a few of them should be completely redone as I can't understand how you could possibly salvage them. Play any of the other courses throughout the metro, save your money.

Pay an arm and a leg for a course that is barely playable, i’m talking massive craters all over the green. The starter is beyond rude and got upset with our group for not teeing off 8 minutes before our tee time. Skip this place and head down the street to Columbia for a fun round of golf.

Great historic course with nice variety of holes. Good value and part of the Public Country Club so discovered and play more often now

I have now covered several events and shot a few rounds of golf at Francis A Gross Golf Course and love it. I have photographed several rounds of golf and appreciate the staffs kindness, informativeness, and relaxed nature of the course. There is some great lighting and beautiful backgrounds for photographing golfers as well. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not very good at golf but enjoyed playing the front nine here at Gross and enjoy their hospitalities. The clubhouse is very nice and well maintained as well and the parking situation is more than ideal with plenty of available parking every time I’ve gone. The driving range is nice as well and I like the system they have for it. Overall, Francis A Gross Golf Course is a fantastic golf course that I definitely recommend!
