Greens are not friendly! Like they threw grass on sand piles. 131 is way to tough for public course

THIS COURSE IS A REAL GEM! It had been 20 years or so since I last played it, so I didn't really recall what it was like. I played it again today, Sept. 24, 2025, and am very impressed. Its a beautiful layout with really nice scenery, and the fairways and undulating greens are in very good condition! As for difficulty, I would rate it as quite challenging. There are several par 4 holes that are 400+ yards from the white tees, including no. 1. So be ready to drive the ball well, or play the shorter green tees, as we did today, or even the red tees. Fairways are narrower, but not super narrow. Greens are fairly fast and not the easiest to read or putt, so be prepared. My twosome played in a quick three hours, even though we had to wait on several holes. My only very minor complaint might be that the green tees often rendered holes too short. Positioning them more between the white and red tees, rather than close to the reds, is something I think would make the course better. But all in all, a very nice hidden gem north of the Twin Cities about an hour or so. Very easy to reach just off Highway 169, and worth the drive for those looking for a challenging course in great condition not too far off the beaten path. Its also reasonably priced, and even cheap of you use a Groupon or the MN Golf card as we did. TWO THUMBS UP FOR STONES THROW GOLF COURSE! 👍🏼👍🏼

Great course and Wendy was amazing in the clubhouse , burgers were very tasty !! Had a great time !!

I love this course. It can be challenging, but the scenery definitely makes up for my crap shots. Couple of creeks you hit over. I suggest bringing a couple extra balls. Enjoy hole 6 on the back side of the clubhouse. Hitting along the river. I suggest checking it out. So peaceful and fun.

So disappointed in a day completely ruined by some jerk ranger who works at this golf course! My husband and his best friend took their 14-year-olds out for a fun introduction to golf; a sport the boys have been begging to get into all winter. After getting clubs for Christmas and going to Top Golf for his birthday, our son couldn't wait to get out there and do it for real! Instead, these four were harassed hole after hole by some ranger who said "they weren't going fast enough!" He complained over and over that they were holding everyone up, that there were complaints about them taking to long, and he even told them to skip a hole! My husband was having an amazing round, he didn't want to throw his game, and he couldn't believe the nerve of this guy! Yes, the boys didn't hit balls as far as the pros, but never once did anyone even come near enough to them that they even needed to allow them to go ahead or feel like they needed to speed up! It was just this jerk who worked there! I'm so disgusted! What an awful way to treat new guests trying your course for the first time! To make matters worse, the guy took them up on their bluff that "if we're not going fast enough maybe we should just leave and get a refund!" He really made them leave! The boys must have been so embarrassed! I can not believe this is how this or any golf course would treat people, let alone 2 fathers with their young sons! You should be ashamed of yourselves. If I could give zero stars I would.
