Set amid prairie and shelterbelts near the Canadian border, Karlstad Golf Club delivers an inviting nine-hole walk with subtle movement in the land. It's a friendly community course where beginners mingle with regulars, and the compact yardage keeps rounds quick. The routing mixes shorter par-4s with a pair of par-3s that can be tricky in the wind. Though modest in length, small greens make up the challenge by favoring precise wedges and confident putting. Affordable fees and an easygoing atmosphere make Karlstad a reliable rural golf option.

There should be a choice of No Star rating. I would consider this golf course in one of the worst conditions I've seen in many years. I would NOT recommend this course even if you have the WDAZ Summer Golf Tour 2023 Card. It was unfortunate the time and fuel wasted for the trip.
