I golfed at Green Haven today and the Geo fencing on the GPS golf carts is so extreme that it impact the golf experience. Who needs to dink around for 5 minutes trying to get from the green to the tee box because you decided to drive across perfectly normal grass no where near the green or tee box and get blocked from moving forward God forgive your not on a downslope where you can't go in reverse cause you will need to push the cart to get somewhere to be able to move forward. I tried to cut 20 ft in front of tee box to get to the other side of the fairway and ended up having to back up 40 ft. Whatever you do don't express your concern to the Starter about how this impact the golfing experience because he will just criticize your golf game. When I asked if it was his job to insult paying customer he said yes. When I was leaving after returning the cart key and expressing by concerns about the geo fencing to pro shop the Starter decide he should make unwarranted comments to me on my way to the parking lot. I am not looking for anyone to kiss my a-- but I am sure not going to give my business to a place that I will be disrespected.

My son and I golfed on early Sunday afternoon and have rarely been treated worse at a course by the staff. The older gentleman in the pro shop was rude when he remarked I should have arrived 10-15 minutes early even though I was just 6 minutes early. I also forgot my sons Youth on Course number and had to run out quick and have him bring that number to him. Not very nice about that either. I don’t disagree that I would have liked to arrive earlier but we didn’t. At that point, you can do your best to cater to your guests instead of insulting them on their timeliness or forgetting a detail at check in. We walked to the tee box at 138pm for a 142pm tee time and were told that since we hadn’t arrived yet, we were pushed back by the starter because weren’t on time??? What??? So we were made to wait another 10 minutes to tee off. Totally ridiculous and uncalled for especially since we weren’t actually late. We arrived on the tee box 2 minutes before our tee time so I was completely confused at the need to push us back. This type of treatment might be expected (but not appreciated) if this were a high end golf course. Green Haven is NOT a high end course any more, if it ever was, and the condition of the course this past weekend for being nearly June is very disappointing. I’ve been in cow pastures in better condition that this - multiple fairways with extensive dead grass, uneven tee boxes with the ball below your feet, cart paths in disrepair. The list is lengthy. I would assume with the fact that they charge $28.00 (!!) for a golf cart with 2 riders for 9 holes that they would have funds available to reinvest into their course but that appears to not be the case. With the condition of this course and the costs, you would hope that their staff would be friendly and welcoming - instead they treat you like you’re a problem for them and that you aren’t welcome. GreenHaven needs to seriously reassess their priorities- things have fallen precipitously since my wife and I had our wedding reception there almost 25 years ago. My son has no interest in returning, a high school golfer who plays a lot, because he thinks the course is trash. I don’t disagree but I won’t return anytime soon due to the treatment we received. In reading some of the recent negative reviews here in Google, it appears I am FAR from the only one who feels this way.

Very disappointed. Green Haven has always been a good course for a reasonable price in my opinion. This time around that was not the case. Only good thing about the course was the greens. Fairways were toast. Lots of remodeling happening and tee boxes were fried. It was pretty bad, even for this time of the year. Normally I’d be all for it. But when they are still charging 71 dollars I would expect it to be better. I would be less disappointed if the cost was less. Till they finish their construction, I would save your money for a different course

I’ve been playing golf for 24 years. I’ve played at every course worth playing in the state, and many more outside of MN. Greenhaven used to be in my rotation, at least one round a year. It used to be a course that took pride in upkeep and fair pricing. No more. I’ve played at courses undergoing renovations. I’ve paid full rate at some, and the renovations were minor with REAL temporary tee boxes and greens. I’ve paid no more than half rate at others with a bit more invasive construction projects. But I just paid $42 to golf on a course in worse condition that pinewood during its sale (true local golfers will understand that). To top it all off, when I went to the pro shop after my round to request a partial refund (first time in my life I’ve felt the need to do so), the guy working the desk told me to go play rum river hills instead. I hadn’t planned on going back this season, after the total lack of self awareness displayed by the employees, I don’t believe I will ever go back. Shame.

Been playing Greenhaven a couple of times per year and after this last weekend, probably the last. Course was under construction and in horrible condition. Greens horribly slow and fairways barely alive, BUT they did charge us full price. Greenhaven has always been a good value, but at $71+tax for 18 holes for that course is absolutely criminal. The city of Anoka should be ashamed at what they are charging for that place. Not sure what has happened over the last few years, but whomever is making the decisions needs to rethink. The only saving grace was the incredible reception and treatment from the pro shop people.
