I attended a wedding here yesterday. It was a nice venue. Very spacious and could accommodate a lot of people. There was a dedicated dance floor which was out of the way which was nice.

Driving range closes ridiculously early with ever changing hours. Driving range closes earlier than Kensington will let you start 9 holes! It closes before the season is over without sufficient notification. Makes you walk to pro shop to get a code to use tokens. Now I am screwed with a bag of useless tokens. The course and equipment (carts) are not on par with the prices charged, again high cost, low tech.

Very nice course that offers some challenging shots. Really has the quiet, northern Michigan feel to it. Course seemed very well maintained but there were a few holes where the greens had been pretty beaten up. Overall, I was impressed with this course and can't wait to play a full 18 here.

I want to start off by saying I am a local wedding planner... so I have worked at a LOT of venues. In my eyes Lyon Oaks is one of the best. Not only is the venue such a transformable space (meaning any style will fit in fantastic) but the staff of Katherine's Catering is out of this world! I have personally worked with Jennifer and Kim on multiple events at this point and I would work with them every weekend if I could! Down to every detail they are fantastic. The communication between both myself and my clients are top notch, and the lengths Kim went to day of to make sure my client had one specific type of wine that is not normally stocked shows how far above and beyond she is willing to go for the clients. Not to mention how simple and easy the entire planning process was working with them was! Starting off with our initial meeting, creating a completely custom menu for my client, finding a balance between having two extra proteins than a typical buffet normally does and making sure it didn't break the budget. Into the tasting and making sure everything was properly selected so a full picture of the menu was created, and the personal service Kim especially provided through the tasting made my clients feel as they were dining at a 5 star restaurant! I could go on and on! Bottom line is, if you're looking for great food, great space, and exceptional service... look no further!!!

Had 9 holes from right before 6pm last week. Maintained pretty good condition. I’m sure that this is my favorite course in MI now.
