A weekday 18-hole round at Cattails was one of those days I needed — fresh air, challenges, and nature. I played with friends, some of whom are newer golfers, and the course accommodated us well. There are holes where you can take it easy, holes that make you think. The signature water-carry hole gave me that “moment of thrill” I love. Beyond the course, I appreciated the atmosphere: after our round, we sat on the patio, ordered seasonal drinks, and shared laughs. The clubhouse staff were warm; they offered suggestions on tee placements for newer players (very helpful). I felt more seen than judged. Seeing women there playing often, hearing them encouraging each other added to the sense this is a place we belong. If you are looking for a course that supports you whether you want to compete, practice, or just enjoy beautiful walking golf in good company, Cattails will make you want to come back!

Well maintained and always a good round. My first ace on the 6th so I'm a fan of this course.

Rolling up to this golf course doesn't project much promise. But once you stand on the first tee, you are in for a golf treat. Condition of the course was impeccable (early September). For $40 walking rate it was a gem compared to courses in middle TN who charge $60 to $120 and don't know how to keep grens from dying. The course may not play the longest but it has some nice challenging holes where driver is rarely the play off the tee and accuracy is not to be dismissed. While I was stuck behind a rather slow playing 4-some on the front 9, they took a break at the turn and I could breeze through the back 9 which has the more challenging layout. Would play here over and over again if I lived in the area.

Clubhouse staff fpund my wallet and returned it to me the next day. I think that action is a true reflection of the Cattails golf course, which, btw, is in great shape. Many holes have the "up north feel". Greens are fast too

I’ve golfed cattails over the years and after this past weekend, it will be my last. It is extremely over priced. Some of the greens are in horrible shape. The golf carts should be condemned if that was a possibility. I had to switch my cart out because the wheel would not turn without an herculean amount of force. The staff consists of a lot of younger folks that sat around a table in the clubhouse conversing about the previous evening’s events (hard not to overhear) as opposed to doing something on the actual course or in the clubhouse. They weren't engaging or very helpful. The round was painfully slow but it got even slower on the back 9 when other groups hopped my twosome (because we went in for a beverage and hotdog). The beverage cart girl passed by us 3 times but never offered us a drink. This place is managed poorly, overpriced, and the golfing conditions = a giant waste of your money.
