Located in Philly but travel to Ann Arbor for work often so my 2A buddies told me we had to check this place out. Wow ! This is now going to be a yearly trip. The Loop was the coolest course I’ve played in a long time. So fun. FD was also a fantastic course….so many great holes and just a mashup of different styles of golf in one course.

Forest Dunes is a golf destination that absolutely lives up to the hype. From the moment we arrived, every staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful, friendly, and clearly passionate about the experience they help create. The courses — Bootlegger, The Dunes, and The Loop — were immaculate. Each offered a unique but equally stunning layout, with a great balance of fun and challenge. The Bootlegger in particular was such a great vibe — playing the par 3 barefoot with music on outdoor speakers throughout and drinks in hand was golf joy. The clubhouse blends golf heritage with a modern touch — a great place to relax post-round. The pro shop was stocked with high-end brands and unique gear that made it hard not to buy something. Our villa accommodations were just as impressive: clean, well-organized, and super comfortable, with the huge bonus of every bedroom having its own private bathroom. Beds were comfortable, showers had great water pressure, and the space was perfect for unwinding after a long day on the course. Food was top-notch. I had a perfectly cooked filet on night two and some of the best pizza I’ve ever had on night three. The staff even had our food ready right when we finished our round — a really thoughtful touch that didn’t go unnoticed. A couple of minor cons: the WiFi in the villas wasn’t the strongest, making it tough to FaceTime family, and the kitchens don’t have dishwashers or disposals — so just be mindful with food cleanup. Also, the golf carts will shut off if you get too close to the edge of the fairway, even if you’re not that close to the rough. None of these were deal-breakers, just things to be aware of. I’m also not sure the Loop and Dunes should be the same cost, but for a full getaway where we played all the courses, it’s just a part of the experience so money well spent for a golf trip. We can’t wait to come back.

Even before we've teed it up, Forest Dunes has already made a lasting impression. I especially wanted to recognize Joan and Lindsey for the outstanding care and customer service they provided while helping us coordinate our Stay & Play trip. We had a few requests on a very tight timeline, and they handled everything with professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine kindness. It was easy to see that they truly wanted the very best experience for us as guests, and that level of hospitality is becoming increasingly rare. From the moment we reached out, they went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of, making the planning process seamless and stress-free. Their communication and willingness to help gave us complete confidence that we were in great hands. Forest Dunes came highly recommended by many within our golf circle as one of the premier golf getaway destinations, and after experiencing this level of service before we've even arrived, it's easy to understand why. We're looking forward to experiencing the courses and everything the resort has to offer. A sincere thank you to Joan and Lindsey for making such a positive first impression. Their dedication to ensuring guests have an exceptional experience speaks volumes about the culture at Forest Dunes, and we're excited for what's sure to be an incredible golf weekend.

Just returned from a golf trip with 8 total players and stayed on site playing all courses. Course: Courses were incredible! Forest Dunes is tremendous condition and challenging but fair test. Be ready to hit out of bunkers! The loop played completely different but still fun. Crazy how the courses can be so different just across a parking lot. They deserve to have 3 top 100 course.. No concern with the courses! We ended up playing the Dunes twice and each of the loop courses along with the par 3 course. Staff: Overall, staff was friendly but on-course marshalls were frustrating. I do greatly appreciate they were trying to helping pace of play but it’s important to understand circumstances. Group behind us did not wait on us for one shot but we kept getting told we were behind pace. From a time standpoint, we probably were slightly behind pace.. But they need to realize we aren’t hurting anyone because no one waited on us. Different story if we were holding others up. Enforcing pace of play seems rare nowadays so I appreciate that they do but let common sense prevail in some situations rather than just looking at the times. Accommodations: We stayed at a on site cottage with all 8 guys. House was great and a short drive or walk from the courses. No complaints! Food: Food was solid but nothing special. Essentially eating the same menu every night can be repetitive but we were there for the golf not food. Food and drinks are very expensive! But there isn’t much else to eat other than on sight because it’s in the middle of nowhere. I would also recommend bringing some of your own snacks or drinks. You can’t just run to a store or gas station easily if you need something late at night. Overall, I had a great experience. We do a yearly golf trip and this one was a positive experience.

Stayed here with 12 guys in the falcon and loon cottages for two nights. Stayed 2 nights / 3 rounds of golf. What a setup for the boys. Unreal, golf setup, house setup, restaurants, pizza and front desk staff were great. Can’t say enough positives about our quick fellas golf trip. Heather at the outdoor bar yesterday was a standout star for us. As was Cassie who helped facilitate all of our details for our trip. Front desk staff were great. As was Erika at the turn on the Loop. Looking forward to another quick trip next year for the guys. Amazing value at this location.
