Let me start by saying this is a decent course. nothing fancy but a local course that is friendly and normally in decent shape. Today the fairways were ok. There were little "weeds" popping up throughout the fairways which was something I've never seen at other courses. The greens were in ok shape. Had started a decent round and then the league started. I was told that the league started at 0900 and they were going to be on 10 back through 1, and if I got through hole 10 by the time they started, I would be good to go. Not so much. I got through 10 and was about to tee off on 11 and 3 guys on the league showed up. One of the guys said I couldn't tee off and had to wait. I told them what he guy at the pro shop told me and he said NO, I was not to tee off. I said ok go ahead. I was going to wait and follow them. Then the guys from 10 caught up, and I thought I'm going to be behind the whole league, so I just left. I went to the pro shop and explained what happened and the guy said, I didn't know you were going to play so fast or I would have sent you off on 10 instead of one. That was really the only explanation. He did apologize but reiterated that he didn't know I was going to play so fast. I just think for this morning it wasn't the best course management by the management. No offer for refund, discount or anything else. I played a different course a few weeks ago and something like this happened and they offered a free round for my inconvenience. That was a nice gesture on there part. This is the end of my rant. Fun track to play though this past Friday several of the greens had just been sanded. The remaining greens were in perfect shape and they putted true. We teed off at 930 and finished 18 just after one and that's with a 10 minute break at the turn. The course is in pretty good shape overall, the carts get up and go, the staff is friendly, and the bar prices at the turn are reasonable, a Long Drink was $4.72 and a can of pop was $2.83.

Had a great time, the Calhoun county 4H goat club had their golf outing here. The food was goos and the staff was very friendly.

This was my first time playing this course. The guy in the pro shop was nice, but I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the course. Poorly maintained all the way around except for maybe the greens. I can’t believe that they’re charging almost 10 dollars more to play 18 than emerald Hills right down the road which is in so much better condition.

We visited here for the first time for a comedy show. The restaurant was busy so we waited by the bar to be able to pick up our reserved tickets. After 15+ min of waiting and being passed by continuously by staff without so much as a “be with you in a min” comment, we were able to get the attention of the bartender to get our tickets, right before the show started. We were celebrating a birthday and planned on ordering drinks during the show, but once again every waitress passed by our table without so much as an acknowledgement. We stopped a waitress and asked if we could order drinks and she told us she’d be right back after delivery food to another table. She never came back, but passed our table several times to even refill drinks at another table. So we sat there for an hour and a half without so much as a water to drink. I’m assuming you must be a member here to get service or even friendly acknowledgement from staff. We definitely won’t be returning for future events.
