When we entered the property, the person who checked us in gave us no extra information about the property and also did not point us in the direction of where our room was located. Our room had a very distinct odor during our entire stay, and despite the description stating that everything had been updated, we found that to be quite the opposite. The bathroom was very small and run down, the sink faucet handle was not attached, and the shower was still dirty. The beds were clean, but there were stains on our carpeting and the carpet was soaking wet in areas. After speaking with the front desk, we were informed that the carpet was wet from the cleaners doing spot cleaning, but we were unable to get a new room as they were fully booked, and no other accommodations were offered. They said it was spot cleaning, however the area was approximately 3’ by 8’ and right in the main walkway of the room. We wish we would have been informed of this prior to entering our room. We placed towels on the wet carpet and even after being there for 3 days, the towels and carpet were still wet. The photo shared here of the carpet does not do justice for how wet and stained it really was. There is also only 1 outlet available in the middle of the 2 beds, unless you use the extension cord tucked down underneath the nightstand where the phone is plugged in. Breakfast is very minimal, so just be prepared. Overall we would not stay here again and we were very disappointed after seeing how different the rooms are in person, compared to how they advertise on their website.

Nice facility with a great staff. The bar serves pizza late into the night. It's detroit style pizza, it's really good. It would be good pizza for a restaurant, and it's amazing pizza for a golf course.

Underrated hidden gem. The two courses are above average, and the Par 3 course is a spectacular experience. The service is friendly and great, the pizza at their little bar is AMAZING, one of our friends joked that it was the part of our trip he was looking forward to most. When another one of our friends got stranded at the local casino 30 minutes away with no Ubers or Lyfts around, the front desk sent a family member or friend to pick him up. Saved our trip doing that. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Manistee National is awesome. Love all 3 courses. Pics are from the Retreat. Both The revenge and retreat are in good condition. Greens firm. Revenge is more challenging. The par 3 course very challenging but great fun.

The location is beautiful any time of year! Now that Manistee National is open year round you can enjoy so much more than before. Snowshoeing, game nights, live music with a pizza truck and bag toss game, and more. The rooms seem a little dated, but they're clean. You won't find a cleaner pool and hot tub as staff is meticulous about it. Very laid back vibe with so much to choose from to do, or relax in not doing. Fire pits, horseshoes, a little stroll on the gorgeous grounds...I'll just keep going.
