Found this venue with group Golfer didn’t know what to expect was pleasantly surprised with the championship golf courses and the short course, which was amazing! Not far from downtown Manistee that provided plenty of views and eating experiences! Will definitely consider a revisit someday and recommend anyone looking for an affordable pleasant trip

My first stay and play golf experience, so nothing to compare this to. Let’s start with the stay- rooms where ehh. WiFi didn’t work in the rooms, basic television, no smart tv’s, bathrooms had the feel of 80/90 with their older tub-showers and ceramic tiles. I was greeted by a friendly staff, great experience with all the people I interacted with. They have a nice bar and continental breakfast and again all the people were tremendous! Golf was good, there wasn’t any communication between stay and play personnel. On my last day I had to cancel my round because of rain and the pro shop told me to talk to the motel about a refund, talked to someone at the motel and they said to go talk to the pro shop. So probably won’t return to this place on my next vacation. They were competitively priced with tree tops and Garland all were just under 800.00 for a single two nights stay, maybe tree tops next time.

This place is huge. Well kept, driving range. Not far from the beach. If your in Manistee, this is definitely the place to enjoy a day of golf. The pro trainer Denis is awesome and really improved my game in just one lesson. Can't wait for another.

I recently returned from a four night stay at Manistee National Golf and Resort. We were a party of 26 Canadians that have patronized the establishment each year for the past 4 - 5. This was my first time visiting however. I hope this review entices others to spend their vacation dollar at Manistee because overall, it was a great experience. Let’s start with the resort: It is a 42 room hotel. The common areas have been recently updated. The lounge is the onsite small restaurant (there is the larger Grille in the clubhouse of the ‘Retreat’ golf course). The first night, all 26 of us enjoyed an exceptional meal of wood - fired oven pizza (delicious) and chicken wings (equally as delicious). The complimentary breakfast was also quite good. The staple items of cereal, yogurt, croissants and even pancakes and waffles were excellent and provided some quality sustenance prior to our 36 hole rounds of golf. The room I stayed in was a standard two queen bed space. Each room had a small fridge in it. I like how the vanity was apart from the actual bathroom and shower. All in all, the rooms were good (not spectacular) and just what we needed after a day on the courses. The pool and hot tub on site were perfect for all of us. Both were clean and had ample room for us to lounge in before, between and after our rounds. We ate two of our dinners at The Grille in the clubhouse. The beef short rib dinner I had on the first night was exceptional. My salmon dinner the second night was equally as good. Service in the restaurant was also excellent. We were treated like family by the staff there. The resort also has numerous ‘cottages’ that you could rent. Across the highway and butting up against The Revenge are 5 or 6 gorgeous, brand new cottages with more being built this summer. I looked at the brochure that detailed all of the amenities in the cottages and they look impressive to say the least. Overall, the resort side of the ‘property’ was quite impressive. Golf: Here is where the ‘property’ at Manistee really shone. There are two courses here; the older (and more golfer friendly imo) course is called The Retreat. This course was on the same side of the road as the hotel itself. The course winds its way through gorgeous deciduous and pine trees. This place would be spectacular in the autumn months. On the other side of the highway (and do not worry, this place has thought of everything and there is a tunnel that conveniently runs under the road) is The Revenge. If you want a true and difficult test of golf, then this is the course you would enjoy. Sloped at 149 from the Black tees, The Revenge is one of the most difficult courses in the entire state of MI. We all enjoyed The Revenge but be aware, it is a difficult test (aka. make sure your golf bag has at least a dozen balls in it). The short course there is only a few years old and was built on the same side of the highway as The Revenge. Please note that this is the antithesis of what some would refer to as a nice little warmup course before you tackle the full length, 18 hole courses on property. It is the most fun nine holes of golf (but diabolical at the same time) I have played in years. Trust me, when you’re onsite for a few days of golf, you MUST experience this masterpiece; just go into it with realistic expectations. It is anything but simple!!! The General Manager is named Kirsten and she went above and beyond to ensure that we all had a good time. She was present and her interactions with our party were always positive. In fact, she seems to be the epitome of all of the employees under her scope. Overall, I really enjoyed my four night stay at Manistee National. There are numerous golf resorts that we all can choose from. However, Manistee National should be at the top of your list. C. Constantine London, ON, Canada

2nd year in a row playing here, good courses, friendly staff. One issue I had with payment (that actually ended up being an oversight on my part) had two phone calls ignored! That's not good customer relations!
