We hosted my bridal shower here. Sequoia is very helpful and the florals and tables were perfectly arranged. Even the desserts sparkled! The salads and appetizers, which included deviled eggs, caprese, and watermelon and feta, were incredible! We loved the coffee and mimosa as well as juice service. The decorations and florals were arranged well by them, Charvat provided the florals. Sequoia was also kind enough to go above and beyond by moving a high top table outside for our guests to enjoy the weather there too. What a great experience, I am thrilled!

A true gem of country clubs!! Thank you to the wonderful staff for accommodating our family on an evening that clearly was busy with many events. Great food selections, hummers, sticky buns, and more hummers. I'm hummered out! Beautiful grounds, beautiful country club amenities.

I’ve been a member here for years with my parents and the staff are so caring, intimate, and helpful. The dinners have been delicious. I’ve taken golfing lessons here in the summer, and the instructors are very kind and informative. The golf course is beautiful and I’ve had a lot of fun playing on them. The pool and summer village are nice in the summer. I went to day camp here and it was a lot of fun. I’ve had a great experience at this club and would recommend joining.

Things to love about this place? Everything. However, my favorite is the strong sense of community. The staff are courteous and effective. Member rules are easy to follow. The arrangements and interior decor are beautiful. There are many amenities to enjoy, plain old socializing with other prominent people, swimming, and obviously golf - although, I just watch the men in my life [dad, boyfriend, his fam etc] have fun playing. I prefer bowling anyhow. The place carries itsself with an air of prestige and class. [As it should.] CCD's emblem is carved into almost everything you can see and touch. From the eating menus, to the white membership hats, and up to the flags on the playing fields. Also, the scenic views from a height are breathtaking. ♡

It’s golf history in motion. Nothing contrived. Just rhythm, patience, and a pulse that beats under the turf. The Tudor-Revival clubhouse still wears its age like a tailored suit. Designed by Smith, Hinchman & Grylls, kept period-perfect, every beam and brick whispering that good things don’t need reinvention, just care. In the foyer, the Frederick Dana Marsh zodiac murals glow like stained glass. The art never faded—the soot just needed clearing. The same is true for your head when you stand there long enough. Clarity through simplicity. And then there’s George Forster, the Head Golf Professional. His father’s a Hall of Famer out of Philadelphia, but George Jr. doesn’t stand in anyone’s shadow. He carries the light forward—steady, confident, understated. He’s the kind of pro who makes the place hum without ever raising his voice. Dylan Coleman, my caddie, was another study in control. Seven years into his craft, still in college, already moving like a man who understands rhythm. Refined, polite, ice-calm. He made the round feel easy. And that’s the hardest trick there is. The Country Club of Detroit isn’t just a golf course. It’s a living thing. It’s rhythm and patience and precision, built into the landscape. It’s the art of stripping away everything unnecessary until what’s left is perfect. Walk it once and you’ll understand. Some places don’t just show you golf. They show you yourself.
