I visited Copper Creek Golf Course this past Sunday for a 9-hole round. The weather was absolutely perfect, the course itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and the golf carts were exceptionally clean. It winds through a neighborhood, which can make navigation a bit tricky, but overall the physical course is nice. This was my first time ever playing golf. I called ahead, and Emilio kindly advised me to play with people I know, so I invited my brothers, who are experienced players. They helped me navigate the course and we played a scramble format specifically to keep up an efficient pace of play. We had a 7:50 AM tee time but weren't actually sent out until 8:00 AM. The real bottleneck was the group of three men directly in front of us. They were playing incredibly slow, and we had to wait for them at every single hole. (Interestingly, I noticed other recent reviews complaining about massive 30-minute backups on holes 1 and 2, so this seems to be a common issue with how the course manages traffic). At exactly 8:12 AM—just 12 minutes after we stepped onto the course—an older man (presumably a marshal) came chasing after us. He was incredibly rude and started yelling, claiming he was watching his GPS, that we had spent 25 minutes on the first hole, and that the second hole was wide open. This was completely false and mathematically impossible given our start time. When we drove up to the second hole, the slow trio in front of us was still standing right there. In fact, my brother took pictures of them still on the hole as proof. Furthermore, the group behind us was playing a four-ball and taking their time, so we weren't holding anyone up at all. Despite the bottleneck in front of us, we finished the entire 9 holes and checked out by 10:15 AM. Completing the round in just over two hours is great time, proving we were moving efficiently. We explained the entire situation to Eric when we checked out. He was apologetic and expressly told us we shouldn't let this incident prevent us from coming back. While I appreciate Eric's professional and welcoming response, having a marshal aggressively yell at a first-time golfer completely ruined the vibe and put unnecessary pressure on what should have been a fun morning. I am trying to learn the sport and had experienced players guiding me to ensure we did everything right. I hope management addresses how their marshals treat players, as the staff's tracking is clearly disconnected from reality, and I would still hesitate to return if beginners are going to be targeted this way.

Course was ok, pro shop staff was nice and helpful. 30 minutes to play hole number one due to 3 groups waiting on the tee. Four groups waiting on number two so we called it quits. If you've never played golf before and want to play on a course that will let you play alone, this is the course for you. If you would like to play nine holes in less than three hours, you may want to look elsewhere.

Copper creek is an unreal course. Everything about the course is great. Shawn let me know that the grill room will be done in about 3 weeks and I can't wait to see it. All the progress in the last 6 months has been great. This course is a hidden gem. The bunkers are well kept and the greens are beautiful. I would recommend this course to anyone. Also, the new GPS systems are such a great addition. Love this so much!

Copper Creek is a beautiful course that has been making noticeable improvements recently. It’s a great local spot for a relaxed and enjoyable round of golf. The course is well maintained, and both the staff and fellow golfers create a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Overall, it’s a dependable choice if you’re looking for convenient, easygoing golf in the Farmington Hills area.

Used to love this course; was a little gem. Not any more. It is in terrible condition. Horror show stuff. Greens are unplayable, slow, shaggy, still aerated, just awful. Some are dead. Tees also bad! It’s like they don’t care. Also a ripoff at $27 for 9 holes w cart! They should notify you that the courses in terrible conditions or just charge you less. I would give them a “break” or benefit of the doubt but it’s been bad for years. One little example: On the fifth hole, they must’ve aerated the greens in the fall, or whenever, and they the dumped piles of the plugs right next to the green! So it looks terrible, it smells terrible, it’s killing the grass underneath, and it’s stupid. Positives: nice electric carts and still scenic views and holes Negatives: everything else including pace of play. Disappointed. Won’t be back
