Lake Monterey Golf Course - A True Gem! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Having been a regular at Lake Monterey for years, I can honestly say the transformation under Dave's management has been nothing short of remarkable. It's like a breath of fresh air has swept through the entire facility! The course itself is simply breathtaking. The scenic views are truly stunning, offering a picturesque backdrop to every hole. What's even more impressive is the impeccable maintenance. The greens are consistently smooth and fast, the fairways are like carpets, and even the bunkers are meticulously raked. You can tell a real pride in the course upkeep is now a priority. Dave, the manager and teaching pro, has been an absolute game-changer. He's not only incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with his fantastic teaching skills, but he's also fostered such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, Dave makes you feel right at home and is always willing to offer a helpful tip or a friendly word. The difference in the overall vibe since he took over from the previous management is night and day – the energy is just so much more positive and engaging. Beyond the exceptional golf, Lake Monterey offers some fantastic extras. The music bingo and karaoke nights are a blast and provide a unique way to socialize and enjoy the company of fellow golfers and community members. And for those post-round refreshments, the beer selection is excellent, catering to a variety of tastes. What truly sets Lake Monterey apart is the incredible value it offers. This isn't just a great course; it's an accessible and enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. It's challenging enough to keep experienced players engaged but also forgiving and enjoyable for beginners. If you're looking for a beautiful, well-maintained golf course with a fantastic atmosphere, a dedicated and friendly manager in Dave, and some fun social events, look no further than Lake Monterey. It's truly a five-star experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend it!

B-E-A-UTIFUL course. Very well kept, friendly management. Stopped on our way from Ohio and will likely stop on our way home. Highly recommended! (Played front 9)

Played 18 here. I read reviews about it being a little narrow, but I had no such issue. It’s maintained fairly well. They do kinda overbook tee times in my opinion, we were waiting on a group in front of us, but the ranger came up to our group to tell us to speed up our pace. That was a first for me, but other than that I did enjoy the round.

A dress code was not posted on their website or anywhere around the clubhouse however, the manager was sure to very rudely let my girlfriend know that her tank top did not fit the course dress code and that her shoulders must be covered. No one seemed to make a stink about the man playing barefoot in front of us wearing an American flag swim suit a sleeveless shirt. I understand the desire to uphold the traditions of the game but you need to uphold the conditions of course first as most of the tee boxes were in complete disarray covered in weeds, broken tees, trash, and patches of dirt.

The course was alright nothing special but the guy in the clubhouse was not happy he was mad at life which brought me down also. He was saying cuss words at his system when we paid but it was his problem. His bad attitude made me play like crap
