Fernhill is a great place for a golf league, I try to play here most Mondays! The course has a challenging River than runs through the holes, meaning it helps to take smart shots rather than large blast drives. There is plenty of parking, a restaurant attached, and a proshop run by the friendly Jake! The only nitpick is I wish the hot dogs were of better quality and had onions for the golfers.

The course is not well maintained. All the sand pits are full of weeds. The greens are in better shape though. The fairway lanes are relatively narrow. They are a bit difficult for new or average golfers.

My husband and I just had our 45 year old son's memorial luncheon here on July 11, 2026. We reserved the Regal Room which holds up to 150 people. We had 14 tables of 10 per table. We had family style with 3 entrees. Their food is very good. You get salad, bread & butter, pasta, chefs choice of potatoes & veggie. The Polish kielbasa and sauerkraut is the best. Everyone raved about the chicken & beef also. We had a variety of desserts served to each table. But, I will say, their cheesecake is excellent! I've had it a number of times. Bartender was excellent and so was service. Our biggest issue was being next door to a golf league banquet that was extremely loud. They had raffles and were screaming out numbers which made it sound like a Bingo Hall. Even though we shut the double doors, their noise was coming through the sliding wall. We had friends of our son's who were trying to speak, but could not be heard. Yvonne in the office was great to work with. I let her know about the golf league loudness and she said she would move them next year.

My wedding was held at Fern Hill recently. A beautiful day filled with all the important people. For the most part things went fairly smooth. The Cons: The young lady who did our rehearsal dinner was very sweet and organized. She was there on our day of however, there was another day of coordinator who was very pushy. She ushered everyone into cocktail house resulting in missed pictures with many family members. (I can understand wanting people to go to happy hour etc. however, it is the brides day and if I want to pay for happy hour for it not to get used, then oh well that's on me. Getting pictures was more important than cock tail hour to me.) The same coordinator was "pushy" with my now husband. He had ample amount of time to sit and drink a beer at the bar to calm his nerves... Pushy enough to where we started the ceremony early. Our reception felt delayed. We had a long break in between our entrance and getting our dinner started. We couldn't just fill the time with dances like some suggested because, the buffet stations were already set up on the dance floor. We had 2 wedding crashers towards the end of the night. At first I brushed it off until I found out from staff that these crashers were "Regulars" at Floodz bar. When asked to leave the crashers threw a fit and were cursing at myself (the bride) and various family members. Some way to prevent this would be nice, getting cursed at on my wedding day was not ideal. The Pros: The venue itself is beautiful. Its very versatile and allows for many color schemes and layouts. The food was absolutely amazing. It was hot and they allowed for many dietary restrictions. With separate menus for them. They cut our cake and displayed it as noted in contract. All of the servers and one bartender were kind. I did not see the happy hour display but, I was told the hors d'oeuvre were lovely! It really was best bang for your buck. I looked into a wedding that would be more DIY (hiring vendors, buying table cloths, buying silverware etc) and it cost so much more. They were not to picky about decorations or vendors. All requirements were valid. The "getting ready" room for the bridal party was nice to have and you do get access to this throughout the night.

I've been to 3 funeral luncheons here recently . The spaces are clean, nicely decorated, with clean very nice bathrooms. The staff is efficient, friendly and well paced for this sort of event. The food is consistent, great, tasty, warm . They must keep busy with having 2 cemeteries down the road. But they deserve the 5 stars. It's nice to have a lunch close by the cemetery too.
