Beautiful course. Nice flat and wide fairways with interesting greens. $80 for 18 holes with carts. Taking one star off because holes are quite close to each other with few protection nets/trees. It was a busy Sunday and we heard people shouting “fore” here and there.

Conditions of the course and the layout are great, no qualms whatsoever about the golf. Clubhouse though? That’s a different story. Can you imagine having a 1 PM tee time and finishing in a respectable 4 hours and 10 minutes with the desire to have a cold one with your group and maybe a quick bite to eat while watching the quarter finals of the World Cup only to be told the kitchen closes at 5 and the bar closes at 6? Well, look no further than Wayland Country Club! We literally lucked out and were able to get one Summer Ale while we could and the best part is when we went up to grab one more after finishing our first (and what we momentarily thereafter discovered would also be our last), the waitress told us the bar closes at 6, implying we couldn’t get another drink despite it being 5:50. Worst part about it was we didn’t get a warning for last call, just a simple “we’re closing in ten minutes” while we were standing at the bar, cash in hand. After then being denied a second beer, we left and when I tell you she locked the door behind us as if we were going to turn back around and rob the joint, I’d be understating it. Couple guys were walking off 18 with the same glazed over eyes dreaming about a frosty one, the same trance we were in only a mere half hour ago, only to discover the door was locked and the bar was closed for the night. At 6 PM. On a gorgeous Saturday evening. Someone, please, anyone, make it make sense.

Had a great time playing. Friendly ranger. Course was in great shape. Drawbacks- it's tight playing, there's five par 3s, and it's a pretty simple layout. I greatly appreciated the option for food on the turn, was very convenient to pull up to the green on the ninth, ask for four dogs, and get them right then and there. Food at the clubhouse greatly exceeded expectations.

It's a very nice course at a reasonable cost, that's not very long. The fairways and greens are in very nice shape. It does require reasonable accuracy, as most of the fairways are next to each other. I enjoy playing there enormously.
