Description

The South Course at Stow Acres Country Club offers a contrasting layout that incorporates more open terrain and water features. The design emphasizes shot strategy and risk-reward decision-making, particularly on holes influenced by wetlands and hazard-lined fairways. Golfers must combine confident driving with precise approach play to navigate the course effectively. The routing provides visual variety and memorable shot opportunities throughout the round. The South Course delivers a dynamic and engaging public golf experience with strong regional popularity.

Always a great experience at this golf course. The staff are consistently friendly and eager to assist, making every visit enjoyable. Their pro shop offers quality merchandise—I've picked up both shoes and shirts that I still use regularly. The food is solid, and the bar cart is well-stocked with refreshing options to keep you going during your round. The course itself offers a well-balanced mix of medium to challenging holes, ensuring that no two games feel the same. Each round presents a new test of skill, which keeps things exciting for repeat players. A top-tier driving range is currently being added, which will be a fantastic addition and a warm welcome for both newcomers and regulars. Looking forward to seeing it completed!

I’m not usually one to rant online, but this course deserves it. Charging $90 to play here is borderline robbery. If it were a $50 course, fine — but $90? That’s laughable. Back in 2020/2021, this place was a gem. Now? It’s a train wreck. Tee boxes are chewed up, crabgrass has taken over, and the greens look diseased. Fairways? Don’t even bother asking — you’d get a smoother lie in a cow pasture. The only bright spot was the friendly guy at check-in, but one good attitude doesn’t make up for a course that’s completely fallen apart. And fallen apart is a complete understatement. Bottom line: Do not waste your hard-earned money here. You can find a better experience almost anywhere else. Honestly, they should refund everyone who played here this year. But on the bright side, they are building a brand new range!!! Lol. Joke of a course.

Unfortunately terrible conditions in 2025. For the same price, play Butternut Farm in Stow which is literally two minutes away, has better holes, and is in genuinely good condition. If you don’t care if the greens look like this, go to Leo J Martin Golf Course where the greens are just as bad but at least they don’t charge $50+ to play it; I’ve walked 18 there for $27.

What a fall from grace as this used to be a premier course in New England. They can’t even keep their practice green in OK shape. They are building a 2 decker driving range which is cutting off 250+ yds on par 5 10th hole on South course. North course is a 17-hole course. Course is terrible all around. I’d give fairways and tee boxes a 6/10 as the best parts. Greens I’ll give a 3/10 with several getting 0/10 (see pics of 2), bunkers are about - 4/10 and rough on average a 4/10 as well. Best hole was 18 for sure and I’d give the hole a 8+/10. Most muni courses are maintained better and certainly a lot cheaper ($69 to walk today, Saturday). The only saving grace is the staff were very nice so 10/10 and drinks were cheap. $27 (incl 25% tip) for 4 Surfside vodka Iced tea/Lemonades. Most places charge $8+ each. I will not be going back any time soon. Most of the reviews I read were spot on, but o had a GC to use so did so. Made the most of it and still had a good time. Hoping that once they put the condos in, HOA fees can return it to its firmer glory. Until I hear that, I’ll play Butternut and elsewhere. I’d give it 1 star but friendly staff and cheap drinks brought up the “experience” score. The course itself was a 1 star.

Don’t bother playing this course. So not worth wasting your day off or the money. North course was deplorable 2 entire holes missing. Not USGA playable as it stands. Check out the photos. What a shame we did not play another course.
